I am very disappointed that this washing machine lasted me two years. The power button no longer works and no lights would come on the main board. To have it replaced with $600. Its less expensive to buy a new washer and I will not be purchasing a LG.

Things just not made the way they used to

I bought an LG based on the great name brand hoping would be years before any issues. Clearly that is not the case. Purchased in May 2021 and now have water leaking everywhere. Now I know this happens but the whole warranty and repair service process is horrible. I called August 5th and I still cannot use my washer. Things are just not made the way they used to.

Dont buy this washer

If I could do less than a star I would. Unfortunately in only 3 years or less the washing machine has only caused us trouble. We have soap scum that we cannot get rid of and we did everything including disassembling it and washing every part that is possible. It ruined our bedding and clothes with stains that dont come out. The only piece we couldnt thoroughly clean was the pulsator assembly that rotates at the bottom of the washer. This seems to be the culprit and I believe it is defective but of course LG wont send a replacement because our warranty expired. And it isnt worth it to have the warranty anyways because you pay nearly $300 and then have to pay $100 every time a repair technician comes out hard to justify it being worth it. I spent over 40 minutes on live chat with LG only to be told a website to look up parts and order it myself. No discounts unless you pay for an extended or home warranty. We have an old washer and dryer in our basement probably from the 1990s and have never had 1 problem or repair made to it. I guess the takeaway here is newer isnt always better especially with appliances. They just dont make them like they used to

Washing machines are missing the basics these days. I know how much water temp etc. These have all these preset programs but no way to really set it manually. Also without an agitator things dont get very clean. We barely put any clothes in it because the only washing action is the impeller at the bottom. Theres almost never enough water and having to stand and wait for it to finish dispensing water so i can press more water is frustrating. Worse still if its paused for more than a couple minutes while you add clothes etc the thing drains.. all that time water and detergent wasted. So often we put clothes out things in here especially sheets that come out with dry spots I do not recommend this washer

Needs to be recalled and sent replacement part

This washer started off good. However it seems to have a small issue that should be a recall that LG does not seem to care about. The start button has a pressure sensor behind it that is very sensitive in lack of better words does not work. If you google it you can see this model has this problem that many people are dealing with. For such a reputable company and with many of the machines having the issue im not sure why LG would not try to remedy the situation. For that I would not recommend this to anyone. This is primarily used by my wife with a house full of three kids its very frustrating and stressful on her when this thing wont turn on. At the end of the night after work with a sports game in the morning this is not something we should be worrying about. For the amount of money this cost do not get this buy something more reliable. Anyone reading this to fix it you have to unplug it for at least five minutes or give it a hard tap to get the pressure sensor to register. Shame on you LG you should be taking care of this issue thats a defect on your product that you know about

Completely unreliable Weve had this washer for about six years and have replaced the circuit board twice at the tune of $400 plus dollars each time. Well guess what?? It went out again over the weekend and we were quoted $445 to have it replaced again. Im done with LG. I could have bought a brand new one for the amount of money repairing this one.

I purchased this a few years ago and the first week I had it the motor and spinning mechanism had to be replaced. I had not used it a month. Recently switch had to be replaced and the selection knob sometimes will not work. Before I purchased the set I have now I purchased an identical set that I gave to my son and its still working well however the quality between the two is staggering. Same set but not same build.

I bought this machine 4 years ago and had to have it repaired revently. Not a minor repair either. I contacted LG first but was told the parts are only under warrenty for 1 year. Cant believe you will only stand by your product and guarentee it for a year The part that was leaking was not a little fix either. Repair man knew right away what was wrong when he saw where the water was leaking from and said its a common problem with this machine. This is a part on the top back of the machine and the whole part had to be replaced not just the connection that was leaking. Between the repair service charge for 2 visits and the part this repair was over $ 500.00. Will NEVER buy another LG appliance again. Should have bought a Speed Queen.

Scum scum and more scum. It never ends. Balls of waxy dirt on my clean clothes. I bought the new and improved impeller to try fixing the problem. Nope just as bad. I do tub washes all the time. This washer makes me angry

Dont let the looks fool you. Worst washer I have ever used. We only got it because our 20 year old one finally bit the dust. This thing doesnt clean even the smallest of stains You can still see and smell deodorant stains whereas my old one got my clothes so bright and clean. Even bleached sheets in this washer dont come out looking brand new like our old ones did. Not a single stain was left in the old washer This washer not having an agitator may have given more space but it took the most important component of cleaning out- the actual cleaning I miss old days where my clothes actually came out clean. I have found myself throwing away clothes frequently since having this washer and I never did that with the old washer. On top of that it takes FOREVER to wash. It used to take 20 mins tops in the old washer. That one didnt have anything fancy on it except for choice of temperature of water and how much water small med or large load this one has all these features that I dont even know how to use half of them and dont and my clothes never come out clean on any of these settings.

I bought this 3 years ago. I loved it then. 3 years later the control board went out on it and you no longer make that part. So now I have a washer that is absolutely no good. These machines should last more than 3 years for the amount of money you pay for them. Very disappointed with LG products.

I bought both LG washer and dryer. The washer has had continuous problems and 3 service calls and now apparently we are now waiting for a new mother board. The problem each time is it will not turn on and we have unplugged it then give it some time and plug back in and sometimes it will work and sometimes it wont then sometimes it will act like it is shorting out and it goes beserk with flashing lights and it wont stop but cannot get it to stop unless it is unplugged. Not happy I never know when my washer will allow me to wash No problems with dryer.

Ongoing problems

Frustrated and unhappy 12/28/2023

Constant issues with the washer leaving black slimy pieces of gunk in the bottom of the washer tub. I consistently use Affresh to clean the tub and it keeps returning. I have called customer service twice and followed their recommendations as well as certified LG repair services. I have gone back to the store where I purchased the washer and they had no answers. I have gone on the internet and tried what was suggested and things have slightly improved for the moment. I would never buy another LG washer again. I am however very satisfied with my LG dishwasher microwave and oven. I have never had a problem with these appliances.

We bought an LG WT7800CW washer in June of 2021. After awhile the washer was leaving flecks of sediment on our laundry. We had followed all maintenance guidelines but an LG technician we called in said the buildup of sediment was excess soap and a maintenance issue not covered by the warranty. He recommended repeated rinse cycles none of which solved the problem. We had to file complaints with state agencies to get coverage and that resulted in an exchange of machines. So our experience with this machine was thus very poor.

I purchased this machine on 6/10/21 and it was working fine up until months ago. Theres a sound coming from the machine that sounds like a tea pot kettle. The button adjust the setting doesnt catch sometimes. For only having the washing machine for 2 years Im really disappointed. My previous washer lasted over 10 years.

worst washer ever

We bought this washer due to the reviews on other sites and high capacity. It was the worst washing machine we ever bought First off it uses lots and lots over 50gal per load of water. Secondly in seems to continously have an imbalance when over 50 full of clothes. Thirdly the clothes actually come out dirtier and with more stains than they went in. We have pictures but the site does not have a section to post them. Anyway we called the LG service center and they asked the same questions as in the manual then stated nothing was wrong. I wrote an email the LG CEO which was sent to his personal customer care person. They asked the same questions then requested pictures. When I sent them they ghosted me. I followed up with emails to the person and even the CEO and never got another reply. Horrible product and worse service

Broke after 1 year and couldnt even get repaired

This is very ironic that I received this email today asking for my opinion. I bought this machine in July of 2022. Up until 1.5 months ago the machine worked fine. Out of nowhere the machine wouldnt turn on at all. I tried all of the troubleshooting advice I could find on YouTube to no avail. Finally I called Costco where I bought the machine who set up an appt with a tech. He came out diagnosed it said he needed to order some parts for it. It took almost 3 weeks before it was communicated to me that the parts werent available and LG was just going to refund me instead. I would assume as soon as the parts were ordered there would have been notification that what was needed was not available so that I could have taken the steps needed to replace my machine. Here I am now over 1 month later no working washing machine still waiting on a refund in the mail and sent 2 surveys prior to this one asking about my experience in which the link doesnt even work. Ive reordered a new washing machine now its not an LG and I will probably never order from LG again. Im spending on average $50 a week going to the laundromat while I waited to get a confirmed result of my broken machine. Im tempted to request that be compensate to me as well since the machine was less than a year old and then couldnt even be fixed. The inconvenience this has caused has been so much worse than I would have anticipated.

Re-occuring control panel issues

Fine when it worked.

We really loved this washer for the first year. Unfortunately right before the manufacturers warranty ran out we started experiencing a very loud grinding sound and the spin cycle would not complete. After talking with LG 3 times and troubleshooting in every way imaginable virtually they told us there was nothing else they could do as the warranty had run out. So we then began talking with the store we bought the washer from. In the last few weeks they have worked with LG to try to find someone to come out to fix the washer. They have been unable to find someone so now they are asking for 3-5 additional business days as a last-ditch effort to find a service technician. We have now been without a functioning washer for 32 days. All that to say it works well when it works but the minute it stops dont plan on getting much help from LG to actually do anything about it.

I bought my washer 3 years ago. Had nothing but issues with it. The techs that come to repair it are never prepared. The fix is always some kind of work around or a wait for parts etc. Lastly trying to get a repair is an odyssey itself.

Love my washer

Ive had my washer for a couple of years now. I really like it and I can put a good amount of clothing into it and love that it cleans very well. My only 2 issues with the washer are that I find I have to wash sheets and towels separately because the weight of the wet towels seems to make the washer unbalanced and it stops and I have to rearrange the load. In addition when cleaning heavy blankets I find that sometimes the machine does not go from rinse to spin without my also having to stop the machine and level out the load if it becomes unbalanced. Even with these two shortcomings I highly recommend the washer.

We owned this model for approximately 3 months and it overflowed all over our floor. It took a week to get it fixed under warranty. The control board and the relief valve where replaced. Its running fine again now but were keeping our eye on it. Good thing we didnt start it and leave or go to bed

This washer does not get my clothes clean. It gets them dirty. There is sludge no matter how many times I run the cleaner they recommend. I have called several times and they just recommend running a cleaner. That does nothing to fix the problem. I regret ever buying this washer as it has caused me nothing but headaches since I purchased it. I made a complaint to the BBB and they called me and said they were going to make it right but then went radio silent. I will never buy LG again.

Large and easy on the clothing

I expected this to be like my other LG but I dont find it cleans all that well. I used 3-4 tide pods and on occasion I still see makeup on my wash cloths and I never over stuff my washer since Im single. I use to use the pods with my other washer and never had this problem. I love the wifi portion of it and it looks great.

First time owner of electronic buttons on a washer. For household use a bit of an overkill but learned which cycles work best. We dont feel the water depth is enough and the cycles are very long. But also no agitator has saved the wear and tear on clothes. Electrical issue with outlet had the computer brain all confused but we sorted through that

Mold and Mildew Impossible to Remove

This machine is by far the worst machine I have ever had. I have had this machine for 1.5 years yes you read that right and despite my attention to clean this washer often monthly to eventually weekly to almost every other day and leaving the lid open when not in use nor leaving clothes in the washer I am unable to remove the mold and mildew that gets stuck on my clothes unless I physically remove the bottom agitation plate and the one under it where mold and mildew STICK and build up onto the plates. This is not acceptable. Its not easy to remove the plates nor is it convenient without cutting yourself as well I cant keep a washer like this where I have to physically remove the plates or have a service tech to service this regularly. Talk about an overpriced garbage can because thats how I feel with washing my clothes in a dirty can. I have subsequently ordered a consumer commercial brand washer with zero bells and whistles which uses less water than what I have had to use trying to get this garbage clan clean LG you lost a customer for life. Never again.

This must be the worst washing machine I have ever owned. The water doesnt even cover clothes no matter how few clothes are in it. Clothes comes out smelly . It doesnt even move the clothes around. Slow moving . If you want any semblance of clean you have to run it for like a hour. Take my advice and do not by any LG washing machine without a agitator as they are garbage. Home Depot wouldnt take it back after the salesman lied about the product. Dont do it just stay away from this machine.Biggest purchase mistake of my life and now Im stuck with a machine I hate.

Continuously have issues with gunk building up under the base plate inside the washer and then releases into laundry especially when loads are on warmer to hot settings. Must remove the plate and spray out once every few months.even when using tub clean every couple weeks.

I do laundry daily. My new washer and dryer are so much better than what I had before. It saves water the wash comes out clean the dryer alerts when I need to empty the lint not only directly from the machine but from the outside which I never remember to do but it is important.
