My son and I both purchased your best refrigerator which makes craft ice. Both his and my craft icemakers had to be replaced. First your helpline would like to mail you a new craft icemaking machine and have you change it yourself. That for an expensive item like this is completelyacceptable. When he comes he changes the ice machine in five minutes and leaves you with all frozen ice in the bottom of your freezer to clean up. I bought this appliance a few months ago and it was just installed in my remodeled kitchen. It took some time getting used to as I was coming from many years of a side by side. The door in door feature is awesome I also love how the access to the shelving is so large compared to the restricted area in a side by side. The water dispenser in the door is a touch one for me to line up on a narrower water bottle. I feel the design on that could be improved as I spill water down the front almost every day. Freezer storage seems smaller than my side by side but Im still working through the adjustments. It looks beautiful in my new kitchen along with the other LG appliances purchased at the same time in the same line

This is really good looking refrigerator. Unfortunately its NOT reliable A little over a year after install the craft ice maker failed. A year and a half later the freezer fan failed then within a week the refrigerator fan failed. Also the whole time I had it the cooling in the refrigerator was not very good. Ihad to keep it set at 33 to have any fair cooling at all When set to 37 the recommended temp milk was almost warm and nothing in the fridge was cold like it should have been. Thank GOD for an extended warranty which gave me my money back less the tax and original delivery. The LG Presidential Liason was superior however in trying to resolve the issues. When calling LG customer service is polite but can be hard to understand. Hopefully if you buy one you will have better luck than I did. I replaced it with a Bosch.

Wow on Function Features

Installed 6 weeks ago. Was hesitant on being a counter depth refrigerator but it is plenty of space and I dont have to find things at the back that are past throwing out. I cant believe how long my produce lasts now. Use to be a week at most this refrigerator doubled that easily. The convenience door with instant view is used multiple times a day. Lastly it is quiet something we looked for since we have an eat in kitchen and an open layout to the family room. We love it

Equip and parts issues - 30+daysw/o a working frig

The capacity and features are very good. However we started experiencing issues first with the craft ice maker and then with the cooling system after only about a year in service. The appliance center which does the service work under the enhanced warranty we purchased has been very difficult to schedule. The parts that have been ordered from LG have taken a very long time to arrive. The service tech cant even schedule another in home visit until the parts are in hand. Bottomline we have been with out a working refrigerator and freezer for over a month with no end in site.

i like the refridgerator in its ability to cool and i like the craft ice very much but the water taste is terrible. I put in a new filter and its still bad tasting. With no filter it tastes bad. The water line is brand new so its not that.

Problem with Craft Ice

Most of the features are as you would expect. Quiet operation nice design and build quality and we like the adjustable layout inside the fridge. However weve had repeated issues with the craft ice maker. Within 1.5 years of owning the product the craft ice stopped working 3 times. The first time it was still under warranty and it was promptly replaced kudos to customer service. Then shortly after warranty expired it stopped working again and we had to pay for repairs out of pocket. It costs about $200 to order the part not including labor. So after it failed the third time we just decided to give up on it. Looking online it seems that there are several other customers with the same issue so this is not an isolated case. At this point we dont use the craft ice anymore. If you decide to buy this model you should assume that it does not have craft ice because it may not work past the first few months. If you dont care about this feature this is not a deal breaker.
