Good AC Bad Smart Home

This is a decent window unit. It keeps things cool and doesnt make a lot of noise. I like the inverter feature. The smart home functionality is bad. The LG Thinq app is full of spammy garbage. Good luck finding your appliance controls. The product doesnt work with Apple Home. Google home shows only the fan speed where Alexa shows only the temp. No matter support.

I ordered this LG air conditioner expecting delivery on June 27 but it didnt arrive until July 3. I contacted LG on July 1 about the delay and was given a small credit and an extra year of warranty which I appreciated. Unfortunately things only got worse upon delivery. The packaging looked like it had been previously opened or returned and the installation instructions were not clear . Most frustrating of all a critical part needed to install the curtain was broken. To be without air conditioning during a heatwave is unacceptable. Im now stuck with a used and broken unit I cant install and Ive been without relief for far too long. Ive requested a return. Disappointed with the experience overall I expected better from LG.

Terrible customer service and support

I purchased an LG Ac and was seeking assistance with installation using your phone contact information. I had a frustrating experience with the several people I kept getting passed along to. Now today I received a text asking how I liked my LG TV. I never bought a tv from LG. I bought an LG ac. I reached out to customer service then tech support for help with information on installing it properly and never got that information just the less than informative video from 2018. Contradictory information lack of knowledge of the product lack of knowledge of how to seek that knowledge in order to help the customer and confusion about even what product I was seeking support for like the text you just sent me. This gives me no confidence in the product or the company. I purchased this ac from LG not another party such as Target or a Home Depot or any other stores with appliances because I believed I would get: 1. Knowledgeable customer service and support and 2. that it should be obvious to get better service because its your product - you make the products so you should know what you make and track any issues to help customers address them. Apparently not. Very frustrating.

Badly designed Remote

1 yr ago great cooling AC but the remote is most terrible is tiny and is LCD display screen is extra tiny at night is hard to see if not seeing at all one has to turn the lights on so if youre using this on your Theater room is a No go besides needs to be pointed directly at the unit.... so if you do not want to use the App Thinq then you are in trouble..........my old Friedrich remote was much better.

Ok but design for install poor

I bought this unit a week ago. It performs very well and cools the rooms very nice. My biggest complaint would be in the assembly of the unit. The two piece design is terrible and installation was a nightmare compared to installing a traditional ac. This design didnt improve anything. It made it worse..

Missing bracket causes a racket

I would love to give this 5 stars however there is a bracket missing from the bottom of the case which holds the side curtains so I have not been able to use it yet. I tried to order it and they sent me a new case with out the brackets on the top and bottom. Waiting for the pice a second time has been almost a month

Annoying buzzing/high pitched sound

Arrived damaged condenser fans bent all over the unit LG 12K BTU Dual Inverter has the annoying typical buzzing/high pitch frequency noise that many high efficiency ACs come with. The schedule in the ThinQ app runs 3 hours too fast LG customer support says change the time of your schedule 3 hours ahead so if you want 8 set it to 11. Sent emails and long calls to customer support to get a refund and lets just say LG customer support is non-existent. There are better options out there.

I bought this AC approximately two years ago. The unit is great just had one problem there was a short in the plug so I had to purchase another cord that I replaced easily. Other then that the unit works great.
