Get a handle on your compressors please

The process for obtaining the replacement compressor was not smooth. LG should be willing to just send the replacement to the customer rather than the customer having to pin down an appliance repair person so that the compressor can be sent to the repair person. On top of this the new compressor is continually running even after the repair person has confirmed that it was installed correctly.

Bad customer service warranty dept needs help

Barely lasted 6 years. Water dispenser broke after 2 years just squirting out water non-stop Compressor went out under 10 year warranty and it has been nearly 6 months waiting for the part seriously? Forced to buy a new product as every time I speak to a representative they have to restart the process. No care for the 500 dollars of lost food no care that Ive had to buy a new refrigerator just sorry LG makes a good TV wouldnt buy a home appliance from them again nor recommend it unless you get rid of it before the FULL warranty is out

Purchased 4 yrs ago no longer functional due to compressor issues which is a known problem with LG. LG Tech diagnosis the problem as compressor an advised the warranty on it was void due to it being operated in a hazardous environment MY KITCHEN IN FLORIDA.

We bought the LG refrigerator on 2019. We liked the features except one thing : the compressor was always loud. after 5 years it went down and compressor was broke. We called LG and explained the situation. LG Customer Service was kind enough to provide service visit . The refrigerator was fixed quickly with new LG compressor. The new compressor runs very well and very quite. We finally enjoyed LG refrigerator and it runs like new. Thanks LG . We like the product though there was some hiccup.

Not impressed with customer service

This refrigerator is 4 years old. We are having problems with the in door ice maker. We paid $150 for a technician to come out and found that the compressor needs to be replace and that should be a warranty repair. Contacted LG Service and scheduled a repair appointment but had to pay another $350+ only to be told by the technician that it wont be covered do to environmental exposure that voids the warranty. We live in Florida and apparently sulfur in the air is the environmental exposure which I might add we cannot control. We have everything possible in place to limit environmental exposure ie water softener reverse osmosis air purifier etc. Contacted LG again to dispute this and was told that they would cover the compressor and would schedule another service within 24-48 hours. After several days of hearing nothing we again contacted LG. After showing snap shots of the previous conversation stating that they would cover they again stated that we would be contacted within 24-48 hours to schedule service. Again waited several days without hearing anything from anyone and contacted LG again for the third time again had to sent snap shots of conversations and again told 24-48 hours to be scheduled service. This time they did schedule the service within the 48 hours but it will be 10 days before service appointment. While I understand Thanksgiving falls in that time this has been going on now since 11/13 and service appointment is 12/2. During this time our10 year old washing machine needed to be replaced. While almost every other appliance in our home including multiple TVs are LG I did not look at LG for our new washing machine. Not impressed with the customer service

Costly repairs when 3 years old.

This fridge isnt even 3 years old and already weve had to get two repairs. The first was that a shelf randomly shattered in the middle of the night and had to be replaced for $90. The second was the compressor fan broke and had to be repaired for over $300. The fridge is otherwise fine and I enjoy the LG ThinQ app. But $400 to repair a two-year old fridge is unacceptable.

LG brand is definitely amazing But when I was buying the LG model # LFXS28968S / 02 French Door refrigerator and bought two years repairing insurance with it. After two years it was working properly but there was always a noise and I measured the position of the refrigerator but the noise didnt go away but the temperature was right. Noticed on 10/6/2024 that the temperature was not working properly. After waiting for a few days I called LG customer service. Then speaking to the repair department they advised that the repairing service will cover the device with $399 + tax. And agreed. Since 11/06/2024 So far after 24 hours of repair by the technician the refrigerator is not working. Now there is 11/19/2024 schedule for re-repair.

Before the end of my 5 year extended warranty it broke 2 times. 10/12/24 end of warranty breaks down again on 10/22/24. No ice not cooling. The condenser was replaced March 2024 and its broken again same symptoms.

Asking for trouble

I bought this refrigerator 6 years ago and recently had to replace the compressor. Since that time the ice machine has stopped working. I push the reset button and the tray fills with water but thats as far as it goes. The repair man came back and flushed the lines again but he said thats a common problem with these refrigerators after the compressor is replaced. BummerIve been buying bags of ice with my grocery runs.

I love the look and the room but the quality of the product is way below what you would think a frig should be meaning a frig should last longer than five years. I called for a repair and the guy I talked to said it would be five days and someone would call me its going on 14 days now. I call other repair people and no one wants to work on a LG frig. The compressor is under a ten year warranty but no one in my area wants to replace it. I would not buy LG any more. Why buy something no one wants to work on even the guy at the LG support line told me no one in my area for repairs.

My tech came early because the parts came early My fridge was out and also wouldnt make ice My tech fixed everything and in really good time considering he had to do quite a bit. Its been a week and has been working great

I bought this not even 3 years ago and the ice maker and water are not working. I am supposed to get it fixed on September 16. It has been about a month. It also is making loud noises. We have to watch tv in the bedroom because the refrigerator is making such loud noises. We think we got a lemon. In the first few months when we got the fridge the ice maker was broken then too.

The fridge stopped working in 3 years. Absolutely horrible experience with LGs warranty and customer service. We have been calling them repeatedly for last 5 weeks and there has been no meaningful progress in getting the fridge fixed.

Worst...Fridge...Ever

Died in less then 5 years. The linear compressor is one of the worst ideas that LG has ever had. I never would have purchased it if it was only going to last 5 years and then not have the warranty honored or have any of the service people in my area refuse to work with LG because of the issues getting LG to pay.

My fridge was only 4 years old when the ice maker then the freezer then the fridge failed. I spent a complete day trying to get service for this product and I was unable to get my refrigerator serviced so i bought a new one that was not an LG product and does service

I bought this refrigerator in July 2018 after losing our refrigerator in Hurricane Harvey.. We liked it fairly well except that it hummed loudly. The installers could not get the humming to stop although leveling adjustments helped somewhat. About 11 months later our compressor went out and we had to pay labor to replace it Lowes didnt have the records of our purchase due to a glitch in their system. Interesting to prove we had purchased it within the first year. We also purchased a dishwasher Post Hurricane Harvey and that went out about a month ago and we are still waiting for the part to come in. Not impressed with LG at all.

My refrigerator in only 6yrs old my compressor went out twice. This last time I had a horrendous experience It took over 3 months to get a resolution. I finally settled for a pro rated settlement. Your presidential liaison Natea was very rude. Wouldnt text or call me back. I will never buy one of your products again. And I would never recommend your products to anyone

The Kitchens workhorse

Almost 5 years old and Ive just encountered my first maintenance issue. The hard water in my community caused the water/ice dispenser to clog and malfunction. Customer service had a qualified technician here asap who recognized the problem ordered the parts and fixed the problem within a few days time. All for a reasonable pre-set price. This refrigerator is a well used much appreciated appliance. Great capacity easy access steady temps.

Purchased new 5years ago from Best Buy as a package deal Fridge Dishwasher stove and microwave out of warranty now fridge stops working Best Buy does not cover or work on any LG fridge now referred me to LG was on the phone for hours no help at all no appliance repair service would respond to their request to repair unit. Compete run around from LG I will never by anything from LG again.

Weve had this refrigerator 5 years and the compressor went out which was under warranty. However we live I a smaller town and had to pay over $300 for a service guy to come tell us it was the compressor. Then to be told the compressor is no cost but the labor to install and flush out the system would be over $1300 We will buy a new refrigerator now and it will not be an LG

Too costly to fix and difficult to find repairman

I bought this refrigerator in 2018 and was fairly happy with it for six years except for the high cost of replacing the water and air filters every six months It broke down in 2024 and the repairman said it would cost $1500 plus tax to fix it I was able to buy 2 new refrigerators for that price as one was a scratch and dent for the garage The delivery guys told me I made the right decision not to fix the LG because it would continue to have other issues and they hauled off more LG refrigerators to the landfill than any other brand

Not happy. I loss so much food from the cooling that stopped working after 5 years. Had to pay two techs. I just bought a LG dryer too this year. Its making me second guess the brand.

I bought the LG refrigerator few years back and ot was working fine until last month but then it stopped cooling so I requested technician it took a while to get technician assigned but at the end of it technician did come and did a good job of fixing my problem. So I am really happy with the LG service it was satisfying from customer point of view. Really appreciate.

Great until it stopped working

I loved it until it stopped cooling. Now I cannot get anyone to come and fix it. I started calling on July 14 2024 and continue to call every other day for updates. Now I have to choose between staying home on July 31st for someone to maybe call not come and fix it or travel out of state for a death in the family. Their call center people are great however the follow-up is pretty much non-existent.

We like the design of the fridge. However the ice maker consistently gets frozen and you have to open the door to break the ice apart which often leads to a very small amount of ice cubs available. MORE IMPORTANTLY this unit had 3 items fail within 3 years of ownership the freezer stopped working. The customer service was atrocious and after 30 days LG could not find a repair service to fix my fridge. I had to contact the BBB in order to get resolution.

Evaporator system problem in less than 5 yrs

After just less than 5 yrs of purchase my French door frig started to develop cooling problem. It appears to be from evaporator inadequate defrosting that caused condensate to build up at bottom of freezer and formed sheet of ice. Very surprised to find out there is no drip pan location nor instruction in this product manual. Although the customer service was friendly and trying to help but they couldnt find anything useful and I had to rely on YouTube video to open the back panel and use the test button on the PCB to verify where the problem may be from. Im awaiting a service call to fix the root cause of this problem and hope it can be covered under warranty repair.

I bought this 5 and a half years ago. It worked well for most of that time. However about 1 year ago the water from the refrigerator started to have a funny taste despite changing the filter. In June of this year the freezer stopped working. A repair service came and replenished the Freon. July of this year the freezer stopped working again. We were told that there was a leak and the compressor was not working. LG replaced the compressor but that did not fix the problem. We have been advised that the problem in not repairable. LGs warranty for labor and compensation for lost food is 5 years. We had to pay $486.00 for an LG approved repair service to come out and fix the problem. It took the repair service6 days to come and look at the refrigerator during which time We lost about $500.00 in food. We anticipated that the appliance would last at least 10 years. Very disappointed in the short lifespan of the product.
