I spent almost 3000 dollars on this piece of junk its been a month 1/2 and the technician cannot fix it replaced the freezer coils the circut board twice and the cooling fan twice. he was on the phone with the LG technician thursday and the LG technicin told him he does not know whats wrong it. I clled LG and I told them the firidge is dead. they said a LG Liason will call me in 4 to 8 hous. that was 24 hours ago.. I called LG customer service just know and they told me the technician fleet appliance ordered another fan. Are you KIDDING ME? stay away from LG fridges. how many times are you going to replace the fan? In the mean time I am without a fridge and the technician is getting paid and I am getting screwed. REPLACE MY FRIDGE NOWWWWWWWWWWWW

Known Compressor Failure Unfair Out-of-Pocket Cost

Our LG French Door Refrigerator Model: LFXS26596S / Serial: 005TRQU2H956 completely failed after just 5 years of normal use. The freezer stopped cooling ice production ceased and the linear compressor began making a horrific loud mechanical chugging noise. After contacting support we discovered this is an incredibly common issue with LGs linear compressors. While LG honors the 10-year parts warranty their flat-rate repair program forces loyal customers to swallow $458.84 in labor and taxes to fix their design flaw. When I called customer service to protest this charge the absolute best they could do was offer a gracious $30 discount. Forcing a consumer to pay over $420 out-of-pocket just to get a $2000 refrigerator to last past year 5 is unacceptable corporate policy. LG needs to step up and fully cover the labor for these widespread compressor defects.

Five years in and this fridge has so many issues. Cost me $1800 just for it to have more issues. Bottom ice maker went first then the top then major components and then the compressor. It wouldve been $900 for repairs and I decided to just buy a new fridge.

Stopped working after six years. Called LG for support and found there are no authorized warranty support centers in Salt Lake City. Found three in Utah County however one says theyre not taking any more new business and the other says theyre not working today and well see you sometime next week. I have been looking for two full days for someone that will honor LG warranty. No luck.No more LGs for me. They clearly have no support system to honor their warranty.

My fridge is 3.5 years old and the compressor died. I had a service contract for 5 years after 9 days serviceman came said he couldnt touch it because it was the compressor and it was under warranty by LG. LG told me Id have to wait another 3 to 65 business days for someone to call me to schedule an appointment.

Its ok. The light on the door was cool initially but wasnt worth the upgrade. Now it turns on just when we are talking which is weird. The water dispenser stopped working last year. The ice maker in the door was never good. It works but the ice always clumped and we had to physically remove not via dispenser so we turned it off years ago and use the drawer ice maker which doesnt have a cover like new models do and that ice also clumps so we end up tossing and starting over every few weeks and we all like ice. The shelves were never quite right for our needs. So it was ok but I regret spending that much money. We got the fridge to match the LG stove/oven we bought and the oven works well except the labels for the knobs washed off and I can either pay for stickers from a random person online and hope theyre correct $60 for stickers or buy new knobs which wont solve the issue that is what LG told me. I guess I clean too well? Ive never been told that in my life. We are looking for a new fridge and will switch brands.

The compressor died in yr 3. The LG line of appliances I bought are just ok but when you look at the price theyre not worth it new. All the LED screens are bugging out and are illegible with on a year or 2. Have to buy whole new boards for 50-100$. The compressor was warrantied for 10 years. But that didnt solve the 500$ or so in food I lost or the 5 days I had to go without a fridge. Fridge door shelves also kinda suck most bottles dont fit on side with ice maker theyre not adjustable and the double door is meh.

I purchased my refrigerator some time ago and have been very impressed by the reliability. Despite opening the doors numerous times in the day it always remains cold. I like the see through window to help me make decisions without opening the doors. So much do I like the visibility that I wish it had a camera to show the rest of the contents that I cannot see. The remote accessibility is nice for checking filter status utilization and notifications when something is not working right.

I dont know why I got a survey - my fridge is 4 years old. I guess when I called customer service for warranty info due to compressor Failing This fridge did not last. Huge repair bill for a very expensive fridge.

Actually I bought this about 4 years ago. I like all the features. But at this time it is dead and has been since 12/2/2024. My appointment for repair is on 12/30/2024. I have lost about $ 300.00 dollars worth of food. Seems as tho I am not the only one with a dead compressor and my guess not the last.

Purchased an LG Refrigerator 3 yrs ago and the compressor went out. I used a home warranty first but they denied it and said call the manufacturers. then contacted homedepot because I didnt have my warranty info. Homedepot gave me the info and LG came out maybe 3 days later and fixed it. I was without a refrigerator for almost 3 weeks at that time. LG was awesome fast reliable and friendly.

Love the Fridge. One problem started after about a year of use. Th ice dispenser in the door failed to shut off. Push it on for works but leve wont reset. Called for service and was scheduled for a repairman. He hasnt arrived yet. That was a month ago.

I have owned this refrigerator for 5 years. I just recently had to replace the cooling fan. I really love the diagnostic portion of the App. It told me exactly what the problem was. The downside was it was difficult to find someone to service the LG product. Overall the fridge has great features especially the glass door

Bought house in 2022 with all LG appliances and this fridge broke down on Thanksgiving eve 2024 leaving all my food thawed out and spoiled. Called LG and turns out the previous homeowner bought the fridge in August 2019 so its out of the 5 years labors and parts warranty. How convenient for LG. This is not how I want to spend my Thanksgiving weekend and Customer Services offers no help they just want me to pay and keep lining their pockets. Beware these $3k+ fridges will break after 5 years.

It was fine but after 5 years it broke. Since it was potentially still under warranty I contacted customer service. They charge$500 to fix it. Techs take forever to come out and its been twice they have been unable to get it fixed right. Apparently its common for the compressor to failafter a few years do not recommend.

I have the LG french door. The code CF E . The ice water stopped working. LG sent a repairman from 1 hr away who fixed it less then 10 minutes. He replaced the fan no charge. Im so hlad LG took care of the problem. I was unsure but it all worked out smoothly.

Weve had this refrigerator for almost 5 years. During the past 6 months weve had consistent trouble with the ice makers. The freezer is no longer freezing at this point the fridge itself is not cooling enough. Weve had 5 service calls in past 6 months.

I bought this fridge and washer/dryer in 2019.The fridge was good until last year the ice maker didnt make any ice but we had to reset several times. over a month ago the freezer and ice maker stopped working. I called the customer service they said after 5 years the labor and part would not be covered so I had to pay the flat rate to repair. I wish I called and asked for assistance when I first found out the problem but I guess it was too late. but the technician who came to my home is nice and explain me well with the problem

Thw compressor died after having it less than 3 years. We jave gone now without a fridge for more than a month because we are waiting on parts. They did send out a compressor but we need a new motherboard to go with the universal compressor so are now back at stage 1 in the process. I have asked if they could expedite these parts quickly but they said no so we are back to the 3 week waiting process on getting the parts needed to get it fixed.

It looks beautiful and worked perfectly fine for 4 years now the freezer is not freezing properly and ice maker doesnt work. Popsicles wont freeze and ice cream melted. Had to move my meat to my deep freezer cause it was unthawing. I been researching and others been dealing with similar issues and said the compressor is probably going bad. I paid too much for it start messing up in 4 years.
