Weve had this refrigerator for over 4 years. It was awesome until it wasnt. The compressor went out a few months ago $500+ to get that fixed on the fixed cost warranty just before our ice maker went out. Estimated cost for that repair is another $500. Buying ice at this point and looking to purchase a replacement.The lifespan of these refrigerators should far exceed 4 years.

LG failed w/ this fridge. Multiple issues mainly with t heir compressor. Although its warrantied for 10 yrs you have to pay the labor. Its a well known issue w/ them so they should not let their loyal customers pay for their poorly designed fridge. Their customer service has robotic answers and has no empathy for the customer. Even at the presidential level.
A fridge should last 15 to 20 years minimum. This is 7 years old and im ready to toss it.
I just canceled $6k order of LG products due to their robotic response to my issues. They didnt even care which sums up their companies character. I was a loyal customer but I am now looking at other brands for my vacation home.
Twopositive things I can say is the repair tech was nice professional and insightful. The other thing is when the fridge worked for 3 yrs I was happy with it.
1 star for this fridge being poorly designed and customer services lack of empathy. Then again I might not blame them being they have to endure 1000s of calls with the same issues with this lemon.
Research this fridge or all of their fridges with their linear compressors and youll see for yourself.

In the 7 years since my LG refrigerator was installed the compressor had to be replaced twice. The second time also required fixing a Freon leak in the tubing inside. Each repair left me without a refrigerator for over two weeks pending receipt of the repair parts. I expected greater reliability from LG.

We replaced a leaking 9 year old LG fridge with this model. Not a fan. It has A LOT more room inside however we very disappointed that there is no light on the water dispenser If I could return it I would. A little thing that makes a huge difference. Also please make the crisper drawers easier to open. Hubby had stroke and struggles getting a grip on the drawer with his mobility issues.

Its a shame this appliance is so poorly made because we love the configuration and aesthetics. It worked well for the first few years but in about year 3 or 4 it started to fail in multiple ways. Exterior plastic near the water/ice dispenser has crumbled we replaced it with a totally new insert and it crumbled again in 4 months It has gone through periods of not cooling leaking etc. especially over the last 2 years. It would be nice if LG stood behind their parts but according to the service company it will cost $400 or so to replace the plastic piece that just crumbled again after 4 months I tried to call LG direct because it seemed I wasnt getting anywhere with the service company but I couldnt get anywhere with LG either. Tried finding a new service company to help but it was hard to find someone that would work on LG because they said that I probably just needed to get a new refridgerator because LGs dont last. We owned the appliance for only 3-4 years before it started to fail I thought maybe we got a lemon but according to others this seems like an LG problem. Meanwhile we have an old refrigerator in the basement that was my grandparents from the 90s and it never gives us any issues.

The air compressor died year two. The bottom drawer broke big chunk of plastic broke on the side wall where the screw was connected . The light under water dispenser wont turn off. I will never buy an LG again.

I am trying to replace my built-in Thermador fridge T361T70NNP-05 with the elevator shelf 36w 82h 24d a splurge. While the freezer always works the fridge recently stopped cooling. Id rather trade in than a costly repair. With the space weve got im looking at LG LFXC24726S. The different prices and warranties are confusing online. Will Fridays deal work it out? Your recent reviews are disappointing unexpected. I have your washer/dryer. Both are fantastic keep the door open to air out washers odor.

They fixed the bad compressor a few years ago. Then recently our freezer thawed out when we were away for a couple of weeks. Also the frig temp wont go below 40 degrees no matter how low you set it. Also very noisy. The repairman said it may becbecause if you dont open the freezer drawer every few days the defrost cycle wont run and coils can freeze up and fail to cool. Seems like the hardware or software on the control board should automatically defrost after x time if the door is not opened. The fan and control board were not working and were replaced. Freezer now works. Fridge still wont cool. Noise is less but still more than before the freezer problem. I did appreciate the flat price for repairs but doesnt seem like all was repaired. My experience has not validated LGs most reliable claims.

I purchased a LG double door lower freezer refrigerator in 2017. The compressor broke within 4 months. it was replaced. A few months ago this compressor still under warrantee is not working properly. It has been a nightmare of phone calls trying to get an LG repairman here with a new compressor to install. I am 90 years old and am careful with appliances. I give up on LG. There is more to this disappointing story than I am telling you. One more thing very few repair people in Oakland CA will even touch an LG.

Horrible product. 4 issues with cooling in the 9 years that resulted in food spoilage. LG has poor customer service. Worst experience dealing with them. They make appointments parts dont show as expected cancel appointments and onus is on customer to be inconvenienced. They dont care. After the part finally got replaced it is defective and now I have to somehow arrange to be available during LGs available hours which unfortunately doesnt work for me but they dont care. Their president escalation line is a joke they dont call back as promised but not surprised for a Company with little to no integrity. Very unhappy with LG

We bought this refrigerator in 2016. In 2021the compressor vent out and it was fixed by Lowes under 5yr warranty that we purchased. Again it went out in 2024and LG could not fixe it.

The compressor failed for the second time. The second time was when the fridge was 6 years only. There was some warranty left but the remainder of the compressor repair was quoted at $1200. The repair company stated that they didnt know if the repair would last more than another few years again. We decided to purchased a new fridge and went with a Frigidaire Gallery version instead.

We purchased an LG counter depth french door refrigerator 9 years ago for our lake cottage. We have not had any issues with the refrigerator until about 3 weeks ago. We noticed the unit was cooling but not to its set points. We then called LG customer service. Customer service said it possibly could be the condenser. That is warranted for 10 years as ours was 9 yrs old it would be under warranty. We were provided with the names of 3 repair companies that would the warranty work. One was only 15 min away from our Lake house so we tried that first. The owner stated he does not work on any LGs anymore because of too many issues with LG itself. We contacted the other 2 but neither would respond because of the distance to our place. I then began calling several other repair companies in about a 50 mile radius with no luck. They declined because either the unit wasnt bought from them or they dont work on LG anymore because of the company. What we have left is a unit that is not reparable so we have to look for a new one. What good are the positive reviews from Consumer Review or Wirecutter if LG cant service what they sell. We will not be looking at LG anymore.

This refrigerator was mostly awesome until suddenly it wasnt. We purchased it in 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed its sleek looks easy-to-clean exterior roomy interior quiet operation convenient water+ice and consistent cooling. The flimsy plastic on the interior side walls of the refrigerator holding the Glide N Serve drawer and crisper drawers cracked and tore over time but we lived with this because the fridge still functioned. The plastic on the drawers themselves also cracked and tore and a plastic shelf on the door of the refrigerator cracked and came apart but we lived with this as well because we could duct tape and/or purchase and install OEM replacements pretty easily. The refrigerator was a workhorse in a household with two kids/teens so even with these annoying physical faults we still loved it. But in the hot-and-humid summer of year 6 shortly after the parts-and-*labor* warranty expired the refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling and we paid ~$500 to fix it. Cooling was still not consistent but the fridge was usually under 40 degrees and the ice cream stayed frozen enough. Then one year later in the summer of year 7 it stopped cooling again. We paid labor to get the compressor replaced under warranty ~$750 and when that still didnt work we paid parts and labor to get the sensor replaced ~$450. When that still didnt work we paid for more labor $145 to be told that the problem must be with the sealed system and that the labor involved to diagnose the problem and ultimately fix it could potentially cost more than a new refrigerator. So after sinking over $1700 and a countless amount of time and rotted food to try to get the refrigerator working again as it limped along for a year we have given up. We should have put that money and headache towards a new refrigerator rather than expecting that an LG refrigerator would actually function for the full 10 years that its compressor is under warranty. If you think its worth it to buy a new $2000 refrigerator every 6 years then it was a good refrigerator for that period of time.

These have a compressor thats known to be defective. There have been multiple law suits agains LG because of this. Weve had this 6 years and it died. The new compressor is covered by warranty but not the installation. Weve had a team out to replace it and the new one doesnt work. Took over a week to get LG to schedule another appointment. Hoping this one works . Dont buy LG refrigerators with this type of linear compressor

This refrigerator has been working well lately but a few years we were without a refrigerator for over 6 months. It was a warranty thing so we didnt have to pay for the repairs but six months really.
Now for the current problem an ice dispenser. Where do I start. Having to pay with a credit card in advance of the repair. You processed the payt and used our money weeks before the repair. I had to call about the repair. No communication at all. No more LG products do us. Our LG stove bought at the same time has a heating problem but we are afraid to contact you. Whats scary is we bought 4 LG products at the same time and two are problems. Which one goes next

Compressor died just after fridge turned 6. LG chat said it would be a week to get a tech out on flat rate repair. Once diagnosing the issue with a local trusted tech at our expense didnt want to go a week without fridge and contacting LG again mentioning compressor all of a sudden they had not technicians in our areaAtlanta. Wow. So not wanting to put in another LG compressor having something else malfunction we purchased different stalwart brand. Repair would have been $700 even with LG were to send a new compressor on their schedule.

We bought this refrigerator in 2016. The ice maker and dispenser havent worked for a month. It took forever to make an appointment for repair since we had to set up the appointment through LG. We had to prepay for a repair person to come. Two men came and stayed for about 5 minutes because they said they needed to order a part even though they should have known what was wrong with the refrigerator. We have not received any message that the part has come in. We like the refrigerator but we miss the ice maker. I cant believe you want a review of a refrigerator bought in 2016 especially since the repair has still not been accomplished That is why I rated it one star.

Weve had two compressors fail causing us to lose two fridge and freezers worth of food. LG charged $500 for the first repair and is now requesting another $500 to replace the second compressor 120 days after the first repair. This is after requesting for a more extensive repair than was initially completed. We are extremely disappointed with our LG experience and would recommend avoiding this brand.

I have had problems with this refrigerator from the beginning. Compressor went and I lost all food which cost me a lot. The freezer got rusty after compressor went bad and cant pull out freezer draws.I used to love LG. I have tvs and Dryer made by LG. After this experience I will never buy LG again

Pleased LG extended the compressor warranty on my refrigerator. I do wish LG had more resources to do the repair vs me having to find someone. The LG repair resources were overbooked. This caused quite a bit of work and delay to get my refrigerator fixed. However I am pleased with the overall customer service from LG.

One thing after the other broke on this refrigerator until it totally died after only 6 years. Repair companies have advised to stay clear of LGs. My LG microwaves handle has broken and my LG dishwasher also has broken down. Ive learned my lesson. No more LGs

After 6 years my LG Refrigerator needed a new compressor. 10 months after that i had to replace the entire back panel. One month after that the compressor died a gain and they wanted $700. That would have been a grand total of $1500 for parts and labor over the last year.
Service was hard to get. I had to wait 1 week and then they rescheduled it for 6 days later. Now I have been without a refrigerator for almost one month

If zero was an option on review thats what you would get. Been trying to get the ice maker on our friig fixed since about 3 months after purchase. Sent tech out one time worked for about a month after. Tried to get LG back but this was during Covid so they wouldnt come. 4 years later and still no tech and neither LG or Home Depot want to honor the factory warranty of the extended warranty that we purchased. Buyer be ware youre on your own after purchase. We wont ever buy from LG or Home Depot again

Failed due to a compressor which is a known faulty part that LG continues to sell. There was a class action lawsuit against them due to this faulty part that they had knowledge of and LG lost. Still if you have this unit LG will pay for the compressor but not the cost of labor which far exceeds the cost of the part and since this is/was a known defect LG should pay for everything for the entire 10-year warranty period not to mention the cost of an entire refrigerator full of food at todays extremely high prices. LG does not care about their customers losses and many people opt to just purchase a new refrigerator as it is generally around $700 to over $1000 for labor to install the new compressor. Very bad business and very disappointed in LG as a whole considering they made $3.5 Trillion with a T in profits just last year alone and the first two quarters of this year they are on track to beat that. Every customer who purchased this unit with a faulty linear compressor should be fully compensated for all parts labor and lost food costs including lost work pay and hours spent on the phone with LG trying to get a resolution.
