Too expensive for trouble Ive had to deal with

I want to say I love this dishwasher and originally I did. Unfortunately after 4 years of owning this dishwasher the washer motor decided to die on me. Instead of paying someone $300 to fix it I figured it out myself. The most painful thing about fixing the motor is the black plastic cover covering the entire bottom. I took the pump out inspected that then fought with 1 screw on the motor and bruised the top of my hand just to get it out. Currently waiting on the correct part so I can put it all back together and hopefully have a working dishwasher again. Only 4 years old and this is what Ive had to deal worth. They dont make them like they use to anymore. Also good luck with the warranty. Its a joke.

Dishwasher works greT when it is working Have had 4 repair trips thus year. The last time they replaced the computer master control board. So far it has been working fine. It really cleans the dishes and pans. Love the 3rd rack. Weve learned to not rinse the dishes precast which is nice. If it works it is a really nice dishwasher. LG has even great getting us the service calls we needed. Very responsive.

LG Dishwasher Total disappointment

What a disappointment this product is. Sadly this is the worst dishwasher we have ever purchased. After 4 years the bearings have gone out on it and the Tech service Sears Home Service advised by LG Customer Service was absolutely the worst. Not only are there limited Service Parts options but after a $129 Diagnostic charge the Service Technician told us the fee to repair would be over $850 which was outrageous and now forces me to purchase a new non-LG dishwasher. Apparently no one wants to service LG products in our area consequently I would never recommend an LG product to anyone if this is the quality of the product and service.

CRITICAL design flaw in the motor 4 years in and it leaks destroying the top bearing. LG wont give you a motor to replace it. So the repair work cost 60 of a new one. AND it will fail again 4 years later.

Terrible Product -- Would Not Buy Again

I purchased this dishwasher almost 5 years ago and have had problems with it from the start. While still under warranty it needed continued repairs for clogged lines and drainage problems. The interior racks have broken numerous times and continue to break. The extended warranty has now expired but it now needs an extensive and costly repair due to the variable motor not functioning. I suspect further problems will continue to arise. This is a terrible appliance.

I purchased this 4 years ago and it broke down twice. Given it was out of warranty each LG visit cost me over $300. I stupidly purchased a full suite of LG appliances 4 years ago and so far the dishwasher stove and most recently my refrigerator had a major breakdown.This was a warranty issue but it took them 3 weeks to make the repair costing me $800 to purchase a small refrigerator so we didnt have to live out of coolers in 90 degree heat.Customer service was horrible.

We bought this in 2019 it is now 5 years old. LG has 10 year warranty on motor Appliance tech said the pump motor is bad. It has been a month and we are still fighting LG to get one on order. Hate to give it even one star but wont let me choose 0. Will be my last LG purchase.

Its been 4 years and I already had to change one trays and then the clips often. Apart from that quite often the 3 hr 35 min cycle finishes and we still find some of the dishes are still wet. It does have the WIFI but there is not much you can do it with that.

Purchased 1 of these 7/10/2020. Right after warranty expired the door gasket had to be replace. The 10 year warranty on the motor is a joke my just failed 3/2024 and if you can find someone to replace it under warranty the labor costs more than the motor. So just buy the motor and suck it up. Will never purcase another LG appliance.

Wires burnt out but it was an easy fix

Works well then suddenly stopped working lost all power turns out the wires in the electrical junction box were burnt out. Wish LG had an online video to help me diagnose it. Spent $300 for an LG tech to come over and tell me that in 2 minsand he refused to fix the problem as it was outside his scope I had to hire an electrician to reconnect the wires.

Warranty issues

Had trouble from the start. The pump on the dishwasher was obnoxiously loud from the day of install and the pump came with a 10 warranty. I called to get a new pump installed. They informed me I needed a certified technician to come out just to verify it was the pump that was bad. They gave me 2 names of their approved technicians. I was told by both that they wanted $300-$350 to come out just to verify it was a bad pump. Even after they verified a bad pump I would still need to have them come back out at my expense to replace the pump under warranty. Thats now between $600-$700 total if not more. To LGs credit I finally convinced them 2 1/2 years later when the pump finally quit working altogether to just send the pump to me and I would replace it myself. Eventually after jumping through several hoops they did send me a replacement pump. I installed it in about a half hour myself and you cant hear it run now. This is something that should have been resolved 2-3 years sooner without me chasing down a resolution like I did. I had 3 1/2 years of a very annoying and loud whining pump.

Second time motor failure

Second time motor failure. Started having loud noise issues during wash cycle just over a year after purchase. Since purchased from Costco I had 2 years warranty. Warranty Repair was done replacing main circulating motor. Exactly 2 years later same failure repeated. This time warranty is out. Lg appliances look great but they have terrible longevity.

Product did not last It was great until it started smelling like burning plastic in my house. The repair person LG sent over deemed it unrepairable Hopefully LG will do the right thing and refund me. I had exclusively LG appliances in my home not anymore.

Bought in 2019 it started having issues in 2020 just out of warranty. Now in 23 the soap dispenser is COMPLETELY unusable. I feel I should win the $500 so that it would almost cover the cost of a new machine. Joke customer service as well dont even bother

We bought our current LG dishwasher in July of 2020 to replace the LG dishwasher we bought in 2017. The one we bought in 2017 broke down and the repairman advised us that he couldnt get the parts to repair the dishwasher and it would be less expensive to replace it. We would have bought a different brand but in 2020 Costco on had LG in stock.

Terrible unit

Our washer is only 3.5 years old. We have numerous issues with the mechanics of the unit. We have had error messages around the soap- of which we use the same name brand free and clear pods. The error message displays randomly when it wants. I have replaced the vario motor yet there is still a very loud screeching noise when the washer is on. Last the control board burnt up- requiring us to disconnect power to the unit. The error message to replace the motor and harness displayed. This machine is only 3.5 years old It costs more to make these numerous repairs than to purchase a new one. When the machine worked/ it worked well. Unfortunately its proven to be a lemon In the market for a new dishwasher. I really like the looks of LG but am struggling with having the same issues again. I have a suite of LG kitchen appliances and would like to keep the sleek look- but LG dishwasher was a complete disappointment.

LG Dishwasher has Problems

I bought this dish washer under 2 yrs ago. The machine started getting a suds error BE intermittently Called had a tech come out he noted that the dishwashing liquid is too thick changed the liquid and still get the error. Calling in and getting a live person is daunting task I do not recommend this unit until they can determine why the sensor is failing. Hoping someone at LG will email me with a fix/resolution to the problem.

I have had this dishwasher for 2 years and its already broken. It is making a loud buzzing noise. I have been diligent about cleaning out the filter and taking overall good care of the appliance. I am very disappointed. I called LG for help and they told me after one year they are out of warranty.

Leaves the dishes really clean well rinced is really quiet the dish rack is ok I have to say but it depends on what is that you are washing. But is really good we also have a lg washer and dryer very good products

Installed for just under 2 years and the bottom rack is rusted through and pieces breaking off it it. Called as 5 year warranty on this part and CSR told me 2 years...had to cut and paste from the site and send a photo of my appliance manual to prove 5 year warranty. It was replaced with a similar rack but not exactly like what I had. If they were going to substitute I would have preferred a totally stainless one instead of a coated one that will probably rust through in two years. Other than that it has been a great machine.

Purchased the dishwasher roughly 2 years ago and recently experienced numerous BE error code issues that are malfunctions I have never used anything other than dishwasher detergent. The issue persists ever though its sensors have been recently replaced by a qualified LG repair technician. I like wash performance but having spent almost half of the purchase price within two years of owning it.

It works well and I like it but it has had to be serviced twice in the time Ive had it. Both times were covered by warranty. Once was right after. I got it detergent door malfunctioned and lately the operator panel crapped out. Dependability has been a problem.

I have only used the dishwasher a few time and none of the control panel button do anything. Completely dead. I now have to wait 1-1/2 weeks for service during which time I will have houseguest for 5 days. I guess well be doing dishes. I tried to troubleshoot myself from LG site and the internet but nothing worked.

The main control board died after about 2 1/2 years and cost a small fortune to replace. But otherwise this dishwasher generally does a good job and is fairly quiet. The many different wash cycle options are handy if you take the time to figure out what they all dp.

I have had my LG for almost two years and I think its great. It is quiet and that is a real plus. Also the ability to put the dish guards in the down position in order to put large casseroles or bowls or pans in the bottom is great. We recommended an LG dishwasher to our friends. They too think it was a wise purchase.

I absolutely love this dishwasher. Few items that arent ideal so Id give it 4.5 if I could: 1. Rack inside rusted a tiny bit --- But LG sent a new one ASAP 2. Takes a while to run --But I just run it at night not sure there are machines that dont take a while though esp with how well this dries. I love our dishwasher otherwise. Its SUPER quiet items come out 99 dry some mugs might have water on top depending on how the mug is structured. Recently moved to Powder instead of pods and Ive found those are less harsh on the dishes. Cleans very well. Very rarely have to run a dish twice. Usually only if we didnt run it for a day and something really stuck on. So again overall super happy

Love the look and how functional the dishwasher is. I have had no issues and once I became familiar with all the features I was even more impressed with imhow much thought went into the design. The app is great so I know when to go unload or have my kids do that. Its so very quiet and now I realize just how load our old unit was. The free delivery and haul away offered by LG was great even though the coordination took longer than I wanted. It was all worth it because the installer took the time to show us how to clean the filter and all the main features we may have not known how to use. Over all This unit is quiet and very practical while also having a sleep appealing look that adds to my kitchen. The warranty and print resistance stainless steel is also a plus.

Dishwasher cleans so well and is quiet. Controls are very easy to use. Clean out the filters quick twist to remove and wash to keep smelling fresh otherwise it can stink after a while. Definitely recommend.

We bought this a while ago and its been perfect for our family. We run the dishwasher almost every night - with all of our plates bowls cups silverware and pots/pans of the day and everything comes out clean in the morning which is perfect because we hate hand washing dishes. This machine is SO SILENT. Our old washer was so loud you could hardly have a conversation in the kitchen when it was running. Now we find ourselves accidentally opening it mid-cycle because we didnt realize it was running. The only drawback was that two parts of the middle rack somehow lost their covering and started to rust. Luckily the racks were still under warranty and after a little bit of effort to figure out how to submit a request LG shipped us a new rack that arrived super quickly. Customer service was so helpful. It was easy to take out the old rack and put in the new one and weve had no problems since.

This is the second time weve had to have a one year old dishwasher repaired for the same problem. The heating element has gone out twice. The repair person said he was ordering a new part. Well that was weeks ago and he hasnt responded to our attempts to make contact with him. Were unhappy with the product and the service.
