i hit start and the numbers just flash and it turns off. really frustrated with this dishwasher- there isnt anything in the manual for this error and derive said it would be 299 to look at it. It would be easier to buy a new one.

Got all new appliances in 2017. Refrigerator had issues and was part of a class action suit. Even after that it had problems. Now the dishwasher heating element is out. I tried to get a new element to install and the parts house said it couldnt be replaced because it was part of the motor in this model. Seriously? Ill probably get a new one instead of paying almost as much to replace the whole motor.

Had this washing machine 5 years and the engine sounds so loud - the engine is under warranty but theyll only send it to a technician who will charge you more money to fix it than what the machine is worth. The entire inside is already deteriorated. This is by far the worst purchase I ever made. Complete buyers remorse. My other machine was over 20 years old and worked fine and I only bought this to look more modern w the stainless steel which is a nightmare to keep clean. Horrible.

Quality and speed to analyze and fix was excellent.Took about 8 minutes to analyze and fix problem - a disconnected contact. Why 3 stars? Was charged full amount - nearly $300 - to reconnect Was under initial impression the $300+ charge was just an estimate might be less if job was less complicated. Not sure how much less it could have been to qualify for a lower charge. Seems VERY expensive - especially if $300+ was average.

After 5 years of use dishwasher is on the brink of needing to be replaced. I have found that if you dont read all the directions carefully you miss out on some of the settings available as yoiu have to hold an unrelated button down for 3 or more seconds to get to a different setting you may want.

Nothing but issues - I had this from 2018 from Best Buy paid additional $140 for 2 years warranty the touch panel failed just after one year had to replace it under the EXTRA warranty then it failed again in just over the 3rd years that my 2-year warranty expired - I had to pay $$ to get the panel. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJUrt9CAkJc for problems. In the 4th year the panel fails again Other than that the racks - BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM are rusted. Anyway to get a replacement? Cleans well but it burns its own racks. Had to replace the bottom rack and used liquid rubber to fix the places on the top rack. Temporary fix Im sure I will eventually have to replace the top rack.

Disaster only 4 years in.

I purchased this 4 years ago. We bought a new house and the only appliance that didnt work was the dishwasher. After reading reviews and seeing that LG was the highest rated on the market this was an obvious choice at $550. 2 months ago it started getting louder and then after a week or so gave me the LE error. The LE error means the motor is dead but fortunately for me on the front of the dishwasher is a nice big sticker saying 10 year motor warranty. I call LG and they then explain I need to get a certified LG technician out to confirm the motor is dead and then he can order it for free... and then he can come back and install it. The kicker is there is only 1 certified guy in my area and he would charge $60 just to come out and then $280 to install the free motor. So if everything goes perfectly im in for $340 to fix their garbage motor. What a useless warranty. In addition its very poor design with the movable racks. I had already had to purchase clips to replace the cheap plastic. will NEVER consider buying anything LG again

LG Dishwasher - Not so Good

We have owned this DW for 5 years - there have been issues with the electronic control panel for the last 2 - Our owners manual states the warranty on the control board is five years but LG will not honor it and despite sharing with them a copy of the page from their manual - they still denied the 5 year stating that that part was only warranted for 2 yr I believe after doing some research that they changed the warranty because those parts where failing after a couple of years so often it was costing them a lot of money. I was able to locate the parts on line for under $250 and repair the unit myself in 15 min after getting a quote from the authorized repair sevice for $960 Parts and Labor for a Dish Washer that original cost $550 - Never again will we buy a LG product. The washer cleans fine and now and with the new control panel seems to be operating like new. Also I would like to add their customer service people did what they could but I could sense their hands where tied as to truly helping the customer.

We have had this washer for a few years on the fastest cycle 1.5 hours it does clean the dishes if you pre rinse them first 4 mths ago the motor died and called LG to get a replacement it has a 10 year warranty on this part they told me the part is free BUT you have to have a LG tech do it. The closest LG tech is 60 miles away and we arent in his service area and LG wont send to part for me to install it. So now I have a expensive undercounter storage for dishes. So this is the last LG product I will ever buy.

Dishwasher was adequate when it worked. This dishwasher control board failed may 2024 purchased August 2018. LG fridge bought at the same time failed in 2023. Funny that LG includes an ad about purchasing for reliability when Ive had nothing but quick failures with all my LG appliances. With laughable customer service.

Good product but failing at 5 year mark

We have enjoyed our dishwasher but unfortunately at the 5 year mark the control panel is going out which with parts and repair fees will likely cost as much as a new unit.

No matter the cycle the dishes never dried. Be sure to rinse well first. 10 year warranty is laughable. Wouldnt drain cycle wouldnt reset. No American side assist sit on hold to speak to someone in another country to offer to schedule a service call IF you pay $395 up front. We trashed it and bought a Kithenaide.

Bad Control Board

We purchased this nearly 5 years ago and the control board has been evil since about 3 years ago to where 2 months ago it failed completely LG offers a 10 year motor warranty but the control boards are notoriously bad to the point sometime in the last few years they reduced the warranty on the board from 5 to 2 years suspicious - a lot of good a 10yr motor is when there is no way to operate the unit and a new control board is nearly half the cost of new Dishwasher. In addition LG requires any new warranty parts be confirmed by a service call $95 and then requires the parts be ordered by and installed by the Service company which estimated replacing the control board at $960 - the parts are under warranty and it is a 15 minute job so not very happy with the service company either.

Bad motor worse customer service

Motor became very noisy after 3 years intolerably so after 4 years. Customer service over the chat was a useless waste of an hour and a half. Even though the motor is under a 10 year warranty they will not give you the part. You must pay $300 for one of their technicians to install it.

It worked great until now . Motor went out . Its wonderful that the company offers a 10year warranty to replace it . The service guy to come out costs almost the same as a new washer. The dishwasher should have lasted longer if you ask me.

I purchase the unit five years ago with in two weeks the detergent and rinse aid dispenser did not work under warranty. Next the control panel stop working properly had to be replaced covered my my ext. warranty Next the unit stop washing properly with water at bottom of unit call for repairs took appr. two weeks to get here could not complete repairs needed an addition part two weeks later can back and completed repairs appr. a month. I paid for the ext. warranty thank goodness? I also purchase a IG washer and dryer recent so far so good.

Purchased extended warranty from Home Depot. First part of the repair request very smooth. I was give a specific date that a technician would be coming waited all day no call no tech nothing. Next day tech called to schedule a appointment. Another 2 weeks to wait dishwasher full of dishes unable to open the front door and a very very un-happy wife. LG dishwasher ended up in landfill. Not sure whos to blame however why buy extended warranty.? Ripped the front door open and at least retrieved very smelly dishes.

Well we will see . I just had 2 LG dishwashers go out. Both it was the motor with the 10yr guarantee after 3yrs. So I couldnt find a comparable dishwasher with what I wanted. So I bought the extended warranty this time. Im still waiting for LG to get me the guarantee parts to fix the others.

The dishwasher fails regularly. Display flickers and then it wont come on. This started early on and is getting to the point that I cant deal with it. Have to turn the breaker off just to get it to work.

Hope Yours Doesnt Break Like Mine

This machine was good. It was quiet though it took about 3 hours to wash so we usually washed overnight. One day it started working loudly. Then about a month after that it started smoking and we turned it off. Repairman said the motor had died. The machine was 4 years old. We had our next dishwasher ordered and ready to be delivered when I realized the old one has a 10yr warranty on the motor. Yay LG was very nice and said they would send the part to a repair person of my choice. THIS IS WHERE THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS My repair person received the email and acknowledged his intent to receive the part and do the repair. We havent heard anything from LG since. Over a month later and we are still waiting for something that was supposed to take 7-10 business days 2 weeks max. Now I have to spend even more time trying to figure out the problem with the part. This would be so much easier if LG would simply send the part to me and I call a repair person. They know this is a headache and I truly think its why they do it

Quiet until the motor broke after five years

I bought this dishwasher a little over five years ago. It started breaking down less than five years in. I just had to pay a labor repair cost that cost almost as much as the cost of a new dishwasher. Disappointed as I thought a ten-year warranty on the motor meant it usually lasts ten years before it needs replacing. The one good thing I can say is that it ran quietly when it worked.

Not designed for 10 years

Bought it ~ 4 years back. Worked nicely till ~2 months back. It started giving a screeching noise when motor runs like a mixie and now some burnt smell and smoke. Stopped using it. Internet says its the motor which has 10 year warranty. In talk with customer support now. They say I need to prove motor is defective by authorized technician not in warranty agreement and cost will be on me to prove it. So much for the warranty. I as able to remove the motor and found the burned point too connector to the motor but LG will not send me replacement without proving by auth technician.

I have had my dishwasher for 5 years. It was quiet. It did the job. I loved it and the little melody to alert you was cute. However after having it for 1 year and 1 month it went haywire and hasnt worked since. I know appliances arent made to last and are certainly not made like they used to but this was a disappointment. The dishwasher does have a 10 year warranty however the service was not helpful and we are still out of a dishawasher.

Piece of crap since the day i purchased it 4 years ago. I have replaced the control panel 3 times. The comoany dmt want to help i called 5 days after i purchased with issues and they wouldnt help and best buy didnt want to help either. I am working 2 jobs got 3 kids and have to know buy a new dishwasher and a control panel again juat so i have time to sit for 20mins.

Dishwashers last on average about10-12 years so when ours wouldnt function correctly and it was 11 years old we knew it was time. This dishwasher got good reviews and had a great price so we purchased it from Lowes. It was fairly simple to hook up the drain hose was connected on the left side with plenty of hose to reach under the sink. The water hook could have been a little better designed but after looking at it I realized the brass elbow could be put on the water line and then connected to the dishwasher instead of the other way around. But the thing I really liked was the four legs underneath so the electrical wire slid easily under the unit making the wiring simple. The controls are on the top of the door and very simple to understand. Ive accidently hit the start button while loading dishes but it needs to be pressed twice so it shuts off after about a minute. My wife loves the small flat tray above the top rack where we can put spatulas tongs and other flat utensils. There is plenty of space for cups bowls and dishes. It has cleaned everything we have tossed at it.

This dishwasher has a known design defect that LG is aware of but doesnt stand behind its product. The control board goes bad after 18 months on average due to moisture intrusion and LG basically said too bad its out of warranty

Do not buy Noisy and does not last long

Our dishwasher was very loud since we bought it. We only run it at night because its too loud when we are watching TV or trying to have a conversation. It kept getting louder so I finally called LG to come fix it its just over 3 years old. They fixed the motor noise but now it has no power. By the time I pay for all of the repairs I could have just bought a nicer newer non LG dishwasher.

The pump started making noise 6 months after I bought it then went out when the labor part of the warranty was out. What it was going to cost to repair even with a free pump from LG wasnt worth it. I had bought all LG for my kitchen and regret it. Fridge went out first then dishwasher and the door on the microwave is coming apart now.

Ive had this dishwasher for 5 years and have liked it a lot. But the electronic control panel needed to be replaced recently. The part was covered under warranty but I dont think it shouldve died so soon and the labor was costly.

I hate this dishwasher. The front control panel is super annoying because people are *constantly* turning it on and off by accident. It washes finewhen it works. The soap dispenser fails to open about a third of the time. After a few years it suddenly stopped working could not get any help on the phone finally got it working again on our own only to have it die again a few months later. Will never buy another LG appliance our LG microwave was purchased at the same time and is also starting to fail already.

Bought this model in 2017. After a couple years the bottom rack began rusting the protective coating had worn away. Now the rack has begun rusting again and the door leaks. Very unhappy wit this product. i will not buy another LG product
