Very Disappointed Software Downgrade

Very Disappointed Software Downgrade Removes Key Functionality I purchased this LG dryer on 10/19/25 from P.C. Richard Son and unfortunately I have experienced issues from the very first day of use. The primary problem is related to LGs new software update which appears to have removed a major feature that was available in previous generations of this product. After having technicians from both LG and P.C. Richard inspect the unit I was informed that temperature adjustments are no longer possible when using preset drying modes. In other words when selecting a preset such as Normal Dry I am unable to adjust the temperature setting. The only way to control temperature is by switching to Manual Mode. This is extremely inconvenient and impractical especially when drying different fabric types that require lower heat settings to prevent shrinkage or damage. Because of this limitation I am forced to either: Separate heavier items such as towels and thick clothing or Run additional cycles to fully dry everything Otherwise clothing frequently comes out damp. To be fair the dryer performs well when the load size is perfect and the correct settings are used. However the inability to adjust temperature within preset modes makes this dryer far less functional than previous LG models and it feels like a clear step backward. If LG releases a software patch that restores this capability I would reconsider my opinion. Until then I cannot recommend this dryer. This product was highly recommended by the sales team when I purchased it and even they were surprised to learn that it no longer performs like the prior generation models. Overall I am extremely disappointed that LG has chosen to remove useful features through software changes. I will not be considering LG again if this is the direction their products are heading. Recommendation: If you purchase this dryer test every setting immediately. If it does not meet your expectations return it right away. Buy at your own risk.

Received a damaged unit

First off this isnt a product function review it is a customer service review. I had to wait 3 weeks for my unit to get delivered. Upon delivery and installation the technician told me it was a faulty/damaged unit and I will need to go through their customer support channels to get a new one. Its been a month without a dryer and I dont know the status of when they are sendjng me a new operating unit.

Weve had this dryer for almost a year and a half and its the worst appliance purchase Ive ever made. If you have a load of clothes that are different thicknesses the thicker clothes come out still damp. On normal settings the temp only goes to medium and the dryer runs for 90 minutes. Not sure how that is energy efficient when running on high for 45-60 minutes uses less electricity and gas. Now it has developed a noise that sounds like gears grinding. I will say that the steam feature works very well though. The matching washer is great also.

Large quiet smart washer.

This is a very large washer. I got it because I need to wash heavy horse blankets each Spring. It is quiet does not vibrate and connected easily to its ThinQ smart app. The only drawback is lack of a drum light which I did not discover until after it was installed. That is short sighted in my opinion.cant believe a manufacturer made that decision.

We had problem with the fryer making abnormal noise. The repair men decided that the motor was the problem. They ordered a new motor came and replaced the motor and repaired the dyer in an appropriate time. We much appreciated their their expertise.

Same problem as what various others have mentioned...You set dry level to VERY Dry and still it doesnt dry Every time Even right after cleaning the vent. Total fail. Warranty repairman came twice. He says it never works unless you put it on max heat.

I like the dryer but the built in settings dont get clothes completely dry. I think the sensor might not be sensitive enough. Ive had trouble with the electronics malfunctioning but it seems to be working now after a technician visit.

I enjoy this dryer very much. It has many cycles to choose from including a steam cycle. It not only lets me know when it is finished by playing a tune it also notifies my via the app on my phone so the clothes never have to sit in the dryer for any length of time. Very efficient dryer and saves energy.

A great dryer with excellent features

We purchased this has dryer a little over a month ago. Its working perfectly and is cutting down on drying times. Our same sized load of laundry are drying about 15 to 20 minutes faster. The connectivity with our wifi lets us be other places in the house and we can still tell when its done. I didnt think that would be a big deal but its actually really helpful. The stream function works so well on my permanent press shirts. My closet can be pretty tight and my shirts usually need about 15 minutes of ironing. With the steam refresh setting no ironing is needed and I can do multiple shirts at one time. And they do smell so much better with the steam refresh rather than my iron. I havent used all the features yet but were trying them as it comes up.

We replaced our 14-year old LG dryer with this new one and love it Same great quality with larger capacity drum and new settings. Runs more quietly than old one. Have not used the steam function yet.

We relocated last year and left our older LG washer and dryer at the previous location. We purchased front a loading washer with risers for the new house. Happily the appliances work in a very similar fashion as the old ones. The bonus is having everything at waist height so I dont have to bend over or reac into the washer--a plus for my back We are looking forward to many years of continued great cleaning from them.

I really thought having wifi on a washer and dryer was ridiculous however was I wrong I love it. It saves me from having to go downstairs and check if my laundry is done or ready to go into the dryer. I have never owned an LG appliance and this dryer knocks it out of the park. If your in need of a washer or dryer look no further buy LG.

I love this dryer. Its not only the best dryer Ive ever known but dries quickly. Its large so you can dry bedspreads you need to keep an eye on the drying cycle to rearrange the bedspread periodically. I recommend this LG Dryer.

Purchased this dryer last month to match the washer we bought in December. Took a little time to learn how to adjust the cycles but the dryer does an excellent job Love the steam cycle Clothes smell great and come out unwrinkled. The pedestal is a must have for both the washer and the dryer or they will sit too low for ease of loading/unloading. Dryer is saving me lots of time and work

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for LG to get back to me about repairing my brand new dryer. All it needs is the rubber around the seal to be replaced because dust and dirt and water keeps leaking out. So frustrating.

I have the electric dryer and I have to turn it on 2 and 3 times to get a load dry. Guy told me to use the heavy duty setting . That was his solution.

I think it is a great dryer but a couple of loads were still damp when the dryer said it was done. It was a mixed load and the thick socks and towels did not get dry.

This is our 3rd LG washer/dryer set.vWe love LG however we wish we had not purchased the stackable set. Previously we had side by side sets on risers. They were wonderful. We downsized and due the smaller laundry area thought these would be perfect. We even practiced with them at the store. It is difficult to see the dial markings on the dryer and bending to retrieve clothes from the washer is hard on the back. This not a good choice for seniors.

One of the higher rated dryers on the market and it when it works it is better than any Ive had before even finishing before the next load is done washing. But make sure you have a direct vent to the outside or you will have to retrofit your home to get it to work. It is good that it shuts off at higher heat settings when the vent isnt direct to the outside but the installers didnt vent it properly the LG technician that came out said sorry nothing I can do about it. So one contractor later doubled the cost. I would have bought a different dryer had I known this ones technical limitations and saved a couple grand. Im sure this would be a good buy for another house but not for mine.

I purchased this dryer as a set with the washer and I am so glad I did. This dryer dries so quickly I am amazed. Everything comes out perfectly. I especially love the anti-static feature which really works. I dry my fleece sheets and they used to come out all stuck together with this dryer they are perfectly fry and no static at all Also really like the light because it is nice and bright. The lint filter is also very easy to clean.

I purchased this dryer at the beginning of November and have been happy with its performance. Its Energy Star rating qualified us for a rebate from our utility company. It is a very versatile dryer capable of steam sanitizing and multiple choices for heat dryness and timing. You can just set it and forget it or customize different modes and add features like wrinkle care. It is compatible with the LG ThinQ app and notifies me via my smartphone when my load of laundry is dryed. Weve done a steam sanitizing dry and have been happy with the results. We like the energy-saver feature which uses less gas but extends drying time. Controls on the front are a big plus as we no longer had to reach over the machine to set drying cyles. All in all we are very satisfied with our purchase.

Purchased a few weeks ago. Clothes come out dry without a pile of lint from harsh tumbling. With a gas dryer the burner turns on and off...only thing we didnt care for was noise when burner turns on and off...sounds a little like a blast furnace electric may be a different story. Heavy loads do not get rolled up like last front load dryer. Dryer works in conjunction with washer.
