Every time I use the steam cycle it breaks. Its the fourth time and Im sick of it. When I called they say they will fix it for 400 but I have spent 1200 prior and its the same problem. The steam cycle. Every time this cycle is used.

Takes FOREVER to dry anything

Between moving and buying new this is the eighth dryer I have owned in over 40+ years. I have never had a dryer that takes so long to dry items even those from decades ago The GE I had just prior dried a load of towels in 35-40 minutes. The same size load takes over an hour in this LG. Sheets and clothing have similarly long cycles needed. Regardless of cycle I use including permanent press lothing comes out more wrinkled than in any dryer I have had in the past. I do clean the lint trap regularly and even had my vents professionally cleaned out thinking maybe that was the problem. It wasnt there was no improvement in drying time.

Lint filter is badly designed - otherwise OK

Most things about this dryer are fine. I like the different cycles including the steam ones which I use for dewrinkling. But its a continual frustration to deal with the lint filter. Its badly designed and causes lint buildup at its bottom. Then the link filter wont seat properly and lint builds up even worse until the dryer wont function. This can be temporarily dealt with by carefully removing the lint build up at the bottom of the lint filter using a flashlight and narrow vacuum cleaner extension. Thats a tedious job though and even with every speck of lint removed the filter still wont seat properly. My previous dryer went 12 years with no lint problem. Im quite disappointed that this one got clogged up after a year or so.

Worst Customer service incompetent and rude. Order placed July 21st was suppose to be delivered July 25 they misplaced the products have no idea where the original order went or where the new one is. They took the payment but product is nowhere to be found. Stay away from ordering from LG.

Broken after three months - ZERO help

I have a three month old dryer that stopped heating. I have tried to get it repaired four times with customer service. I have been ghosted four times. They simply stopped responding to me. I dont know what else I can do to get this brand new dryer fixed. No one probably looks at these reviews or cares. But maybe it will give other would-be customers pause before they buy an LG dryer.

If i could give this less than 1 star I would. Prior dryer from other brand I had for 13 years before it started to slow down. This piece lasted a whopping 15 months before the heating element inside the machine failed. Low and behold its not covered under warranty anymore and not their problem. Even at a discount I would not recommend buying this product or anything from LG in their washer/dryer area.

Started a FIRE with ZERO use

On December 6 2024 we received a new LG washer and dryer delivered by RXO. Unfortunately the delivery team removed the pedestals we intended to reuse causing initial inconvenience. More alarmingly on December 7 the brand-new unused dryer caught fire filling our home with smoke and soot. We promptly called 911 and were fortunate to prevent a larger disaster. Despite the severity of the incident we have yet to receive any substantial communication or support from LG. While a technician visit is scheduled for five days later we are left to manage the immediate aftermath including electrical repairs and extensive cleaning. Given the alarming nature of this incident and the lack of timely response from LG we urge consumers to exercise caution when considering LG products.

Need a dryer I can count on. I returned the first dryer from Whirlpool because it simply did not perform. The LG dryer is doing much better. Drying area rugs is still a bit of a problem but overall I am satisfied with my new LG dryer.

Dont buy unless you like cleaning up lint

The door on this dryer and on other LG models as far as I can surmise from searching reviews on various retailer sites does not close and seal properly. We bought this DLEX5500 a couple recently and upon first use noticed that you could insert your hand between the closed door and machine. You could see the dryer light around the gasket and the door has at least 1/4 inch of play when closed. We asked for a repair assuming we got a messed up dryer. The technician seemed surprised by this problem and it took two more trips for him to replace the door with one that has a shorter latch. However the door still does not seal. Lint sticks to the gasket and around the opening of the machine and even ends up leaking out onto the floor. The issue was sent to a Presidential Liason who also seemed surprised and ended up telling me that the technical folks at LG say the dryer is working as designed. I mention these two LG a people acting surprised because this has apparently been an issue with LG dryer doors for years so I doubt either was surprised. I asked to speak to an engineer about why LG would design and produce a dryer that made a mess with lint and a conversation with an engineer has not happened. Online I found other folks who have the same issue with other LG dryer model and the solution offered by LG is to wipe the dryer gasket door opening and floor with a damp cloth after each load. Really. Added work to using a brand new dryer. It is unbelievable. Had I known this issue existed there is no way I would have purchased an LG dryer and matching washer.

Works great - when it works.

We bought this dryer 8 months ago. It works very well - when it works. A couple of weeks ago I found the dryer in a state with the interior light on and non-responsive to the power button. I had to turn the breaker off and back on to reset the unit where it was back to normal. I tried to duplicate the issue by opening the door and turning the dryer off and it once again became non-responsive with the interior light on and all controls dead. I duplicated this issue twice so I scheduled a service call. However the dryer started working before the service date and I the technician said I had to cancel it. Obviously my concern is that this issue will return sometime after the remaining 4 months of warranty. The unit definitely has an issue with a weak component or bad connection.

When in doubt on which cycle to use the AI cycle has never failed me in safely dryer my clothes. The dryer is so quiet that it doesnt disturb my activities at home. Nice Dryer Arrived Broken

The dryer works fast and dries efficiently but getting one delivered that doesnt have an imperfection may be an issue. The first dryer we received clunked when it spun it was quickly exchanged for a completely new dryer. The next one worked silently but the door hinge was incorrect causing air loss and lint to escape. Its under warranty and LG sent a wonderful man who has been working to make it right but with back ordered parts and scheduling its been a hassle. Again the dryer works well and is very nice looking I would just make sure I inspected it well before accepting one.

Great Appliance

In May 2023 we bought the LG 7.4 cu. ft Dryer along with the LG 4.5 cu. ft Washer. Both appliances have so far functioned excellently and they provide more features than I probably will ever use but at the same time quick settings that are ideal for most needs But even tweaking the standard settings is very easy. The Dryer developed a crack in the frame of the lint filter which was replaced by LG in a very short period of time and without any fuzz. So I also like customer service I am very happy with both appliances and would purchase them again. Is there anything that could be improved upon? Of course there almost always is. The sensor buttons for on/off and go/pause are too easily triggered by just leaning over the appliances for instance. Real push buttons would probably be better. Secondly the light goes on in both appliances when they are finished which is great. However even if I try to get to the appliances right away often times the light does not stay on long enough to unload them. 30 to 60 seconds more would be very helpful - another option is to trigger a time interval when the door is opened.

Great dryer but we had two install problems

Our new dryer is easy to use and dries our clothes about two times faster than our previous dryer. We did have some issues upon installation that were quickly addressed. First we had to switch the door hinges so the door opened from the right side rather than the left. Second we had to by and install a low profile offset dryer connector because the position of the exhaust vent of our old dryer was 6 inches to the left of the position of the new dryer exhaust vent. I wish someone had told us that before we ordered the dryer -- but fortunately all is fine now.
