Problem with NEW Gallery microwave

(1) PLEASE BRING BACK PUSH BUTTON LATCHES TO OPEN MICROWAVES. I am finally writing this after experiencing several months of frustration with this model being EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPEN AND CLOSE. I thought it might improve with use but finally requested service call from local retailer where I purchased the microwave. I delayed posting on Frigidaire site because retailer was willing to spend his time and travel $ trying to fix the problem. He works at least 12-hour days and had to drive 40 miles round trip to my rural home (two trips so far - his profit has long since disappeared). After waiting quite some time for delivery of latching mechanism repair part, retail owner/repairman made return trip to install the repair part yesterday - NO IMPROVEMENT IN OPERATION. He now says that if Frigidaire won't deal with return he will make it right - but it's not HIS design/functionality error! I use a microwave many times a day, and my frustration has grown to where I hate to even approach the door, let alone tug it open with a loud "thunk" or force it to close with another hard "thunk". It is so bad that our 15-yr old grandson (strong football basketball baseball athlete) and his friend were surprised how hard it was to open and close!! (2) I submitted registration online within 3 days of purchase (big trouble getting online process to accept the model # until I dropped the "A" at the end of the number - what?!) but when dealer first contacted Frigidaire a few months later (after I finally gave in and called him) person said it was not registered so he had to take the time to re-register it -- yet I have a printout of registration acknowledgement!! (3) And. . . once in a while the unit makes a loud engine-like buzzing sound when being used - it's surely not a vibration because it is securely mounted to the wall, which is a blessing because otherwise all the tugging would cause it to fall off onto my nice glass-top range.

My last microwave didn't have the rotating glass tray on the bottom ----so I'm thrilled with that. Love the middle rack so I can do two items at one time. Of course being new it heats so much faster. All-in-all I really love it

Although I was somewhat forced to purchase all new appliances when my dishwasher broke, I am very glad I did! This microwave oven heats up foos evenly and quickly and looks wonderful over my new oven. It goes nicely in my kitchen with the matching Frigidaire Gallery suite.

Exceeds expectations in all areas except one. I find three immediate, long and loud beeps to notify completion is too much for my taste. I would prefer the three beeps several moments apart to allow time to retrieve the food without competing with the beeps. (Perhaps I can change that I do have preference options. Haven't explored that yet. I plan to right now!).

We have had this appliance for 1 month now, wanted to give it some use. Overall, we are disappointed. The glass covering is a permanent mesh screen which prevents viewing the contents while in use, the lamp inside is very weak and the power of the microwave is less than expected. The sensor cook/reheat features are worthless.

We have had our new Gallery MW for two months or so. I would give it a 5 star if I could figure out how to turn the "finished" chime off. Other than that, it is perfect. I wanted white since I don't like stainless steel and I love the sleek design. Didn't think we would use the cycles and sensors but they are actually good at timing things.

Prior unit died and I hope I upgraded to a more reliable model. Installed myself. Good instructions. Works well so far (a few weeks). My only gripe is the white mesh over the window. The pattern is very tight and makes it difficult to see the food you're cooking.

Bought less than a month, see other reviews are not happy with sensor cooking reheat either. We have used the sensor reheat button in several microwaves and never had food dry out like shoe leather....the dinner plate option actually appears to be cooking the food... Just had service guy come out, bottom line we will need to keep a close eye on reheating food.... UGH!!!

I bought a month ago when the door broke on my 10 year old frigidaire microwave. We use it basically to reheat leftovers and cook some frozen meals. The old one had a sensor reheat that you just push and it would quit when the food was hot. This newer model gives you options of foods to reheat but nothing seems to work. Its either overheated and hard or underheated so there is a lot of guessing. Really disappointed, makes more work out of an appliance that is suppose to make it easier.

Had this for a few months now. Had a different microwave before which i loved, but it came defective out of the box and after a year long fight with sears, they didnt carry that one anymore so had to pick another for replacement. Things i like: very quiet when running, surprisingly quick defrost tho can slightly cook food sometimes, has quick heat short cut buttons. My previous microwave defrosted meat like a dream, not cooking it whatsoever, tho it did take longer. My other one also allowed me to keep touchpad sounds, but remove the done beeps. This one has a really, really, really annoying done beeps, i dont know what they were thinking. It is an all or nothing mute, so i miss my touchpad noise, but the done beeps are so irritating, i live without. The door opening and closing is pretty strong, so i have wondered if the door will fail at some point. I also wonder the same for the touchpad as you really have to push more than any other touchpad i have had, so i expect it to fail also. time will tell. The handle is not attractive as other microwaves. I also dont like that i cannot just put a time in the auto defrost, but have to pick an option like meat, poultry, etc and put in a weight. Has a melt butter, but not a soften butter function.... tho has a soften cream chs button, no clue why they left out the soften butter as i use this more than melt. Cook veggies button never cooks veggies to my liking. My previous microwave cooked asparagus to such perfection it made me tear up. Would be nice if it had a beverage button. Sum it up, it could have better auto cooking, better button choices, remove the incredibly annoying beeping, but defrosts pretty ok, and does work otherwise, and is very quiet. I wouldnt recommend it only because i know there are better ones out there, but it is ok.

I bought this because I already had the Gallery Stove. Size is fine, but some sensor setting don't work as well as I would like, and the venting is very poor. I also find it hard to remember how to put in a timed setting.

I bought the first Gallery over the stove microwave about 18 years ago. Had no problems with it......until this year. It just quit.. but how many other microwaves last that long. Found the new one and made arrangements for the installation and removal of the old one. Everything is good. I understand that with progress, changes are made....but what I miss about the old micro is the size of the print used to select what program (or cycle) are hard on old eyes to read. .

It seems like a reliable microwave. It is a bit noisy when opening the door and sometimes pressing the buttons can be hard. Otherwise, it is a Frigidaire and I expect years of reliable use.

One complaint is that the door is a little stiff to open. Also I grudgingly put up with the 4 long beeps and then their repeating after a few seconds. I was disappointed that it did not have a Hold Warm setting, but I knew this in advance. Also the melt/soften butter did the melt, more than soften.

We replaced an above stove microwave that was at least 18 years old, and wow - what a difference! Once you learn the controls there is nothing you need a microwave for that this cannot do, and fast! The only control the old microwave had this doesn't was a timed defrost. We don't need it because the programmed defrost works so well. If you want a powerful microwave that heats and cooks your food fast, this is definitely the one!

I've had the microwave for a couple months and it works really well. Only complaint - The beeping at the end of the cooking is a little annoying and continues until you open the door. You can turn the beeping off, though.

The microwave has easy to discern display....e.g. even I can read it. Stepping through the various options is much better than the previous Gallery Micro I had. Each iteration gets better.

This microwave has not worked right since I bought it. When using it, there was a loud grating, bumping type noise and it sounded like the turn table. Sure enough, a part has had to be replaced on it already! It is annoying that when food is ready it omits 3 long tones and I can't seem to change it. Itis ddifficult to to use the preference button. I don't like anything about this microwave. Worst one I have ever purchased. Oh and I have again heard some noise again from turntable. Will never buy this brand again. Beware!

We shopped at Gray's Appliance in Melrose,MA . Our Salesman highly recommended this microwave oven. We bought it at a great price. I installed it in about 1/2 hr. It's worked well above & beyond the great recommendation. Very easy operation & cleaning.
