Have had the unit for 3 years and today my wife went to use it and it seemed like everything was going to work until she closed the door. Light cam on and it makes noise without hitting start. No buttons work now but everytime you close the door it turns itself on. Had to unplug.

A little over 2 years old and it does nothing but make lightning like sounds. Nothing has been on the stove for 3 or 4 days, so I do not think it is water vapor. With all of the complaints of quality issues, why hasn't there been a recall. Something is definitely wrong in the design of this unit.

Bought this Gallery model FGMV175QF microwave less than two years ago. The internal fuse blew out the other day. I replaced it and it blew out again. I checked the three interlock switches and they are working. So now its down to the Capacitor, diode, Transformer, or Megetron. The Capacitor seems most likely. With as many complaints as I've seen on here that are very similar Frigidaire should issue a recall. Major components should not go bad this soon our last microwave lasted 15 years and was still running when we decided to get it off the counter and install this above range unit. Wish we still had the old one.

Bought 2 brand new higher end homes with this line of products installed in the kitchens. In 1 home that is about 2 years old, every Frigidaire appliance has failed. The dishwasher, fridge, stove and microwave. The other home had the microwave fail at 7 months and again at 11 months. JUNK!

This microwave came with my new house and broke after 3 years. It kept tripping my breaker. I watched a YouTube video on how to repair this; I replaced the monitoring switch and this fixed the issue. However, now it trips the breaker when I open the door. I called the service line and the automated messages led me nowhere. I do not recommend this product if you are looking for something that will last a long time.

I had this installed in February of 2017. By May of 2020 it is not operating. The microwave is tripping my breaker every time I try to use it. Changed out the breaker, but it still trips it. Plugged it in to another outlet to be sure and it tripped the breaker there too. So, now after just three years I have no microwave. My mom has a microwave that is 25 years old that still works.

We purchased 3 Frigidaire Gallery appliances 2.5 years ago. We™™ve had problems with the slide in range, fridge and now the microwave. Unfortunately the microwave has stopped working, trips the breaker and almost started a fire. Not sure which brand is better but will never buy another Frigidaire product.

Additionally, when I talked to the builder to ask about warranty, she told me at least 10 other residents have experienced the same problem (tripping the breaker on start up). Within a few years of light residential service the plastic parts within the door that hold the handle in place broke. The lower handle attachment came loose and bent the stainless facia on the door. The replacement door was about as expensive as the microwave was originally. When I disassembled the top grill to replace the door, the mounting tabs were also broken. This replacement part costs about half of what the original microwave cost. If I didn't have matching appliances I would have been better off replacing the entire microwave. Sorry Frigidaire - you need to do something to make your replacement parts more reasonable and a more robust design on your plastic components.

This microwave came with our new build home. It was actually an "upgrade" from the Whirlpool model that came standard. I'm glad I bought the extended warranty because it has broke for the 4th time now. This is crazy. At some point I would hope that they will just replace it- although looking at reviews for other models it seems like this happens to all of their products...

Like most of the comments I bought this model back in Feb/Mar 2017 and all of a sudden it breaks at the circuit and completely shuts down. No power at all after that. I contacted live chat. They just guided me to someone who I have to pay to look at it. If there is a design flaw, the company should support any issues that are derived from it & fix it free of charge for up to 5 years! LG did that with my refrigerator & saved us thousands by taking responsibility for an issue that many people were having... I guess we are off to get a Whirlpool or Maytag at this point. I can't justify giving money or supporting a company who doesn't take care of their customers. Shame!

We™™ve had the microwave about 2 years and recently it was tripping the breaker if you opened the door while it was running. Then it started tripping the breaker every time you tried to start it. I actually opened it up and replaced the faulty door switch and the blown fuse (presumably from the last time it failed) but now I have a new problem- the microwave buzzes constantly if the door is closed. This appears to be a control board issue from everything I™™ve read, but not sure it is worth replacing that as it is very expensive! Was hoping this microwave would last for a while longer- our previous one (same family of products- Frigidaire Gallery) lasted 13 years! Very disappointed and wondering if we should go with something else this time. It really does look bad for the company since so many people are having the same issue!

All my appliances are frigidaire and after 2 1/2 yrs the breaker is tripping. This is common from what from hear and you have to replace the switches inside the door. I understand one off issues but there multiple families in my neighborhood who are having the same issues . Frigidaire suggested I contact a repairman for their faulty design/parts.I work in manufacturing and great customer service is what sells the product. Ive owned many microwaves and have never had 1 issue. Will never buy or suggest a frigidare microwave to anyone.

This seemed to work fine with the exception sometimes after boiling water on the stove, it would give loud pops and snaps when cooking. Loud enough I only let it go for a second or two. There™™s a burning smell also. In the past it seemed to work again after a few hours. (My wife had it happen, this was the first time for me) Now it™™s been three days and it™™s unusable. Is this covered under warranty?

Just as with other posters, my microwave is only 3 years old and has started either tripping the breaker or blowing a fuse every time I try to use it. Clearly a manufacturing defect since it's happening to so many people - after spending $3,500 for a suite of high quality kitchen appliances I certainly expected better than this! Since it sounds like others haven't had luck with repairs I guess I'm stuck with purchasing a new microwave from a more reliable company.

Mine only lasted 2 years and it blows the circuit breaker. It's the only thing on that line. If you look on YouTube you can see a few videos with the same model less than 2 years old with the same problem. Spoke with Frigidaire a few times and they won't back it up. My other Frigidaire microwave lasted about 12 years. I told Frigidaire that someone should look into this since I'm obviously not the only one with the same problem. They offered me 50% off the parts. By the time I paid for service to come over and the other half of the parts I could get a new microwave. I was also worried that I would fix this and it would happen again so wouldn't be worth it. Bottom line Frigidaire should pay attention about this electrical problem.

We purchased all Gallery kitchen appliances in Dec 2017. In July 2019 the microwave went dead. Frigidaire agreed to fix the problem even though it was out of warranty. The repair tech said it is design flaw the causes the two fuses at the door latch. He told us to make sure we stop the microwave with the cancel button so there is no power to the door circuit. We did that religiously. On Dec 27, 2019 while the machine was warming food it went dead again. We are done with this product. Replaced it today with another brand that we had previous success with. As for the way this machine operates, we hate to have to repeatedly press the power button to get to the desired setting. If you miss your desired setting you have to start all over again. Very frustrating. The soften butter/cream cheese setting is to hot. Can't soften butter only melt it. The speed of the turntable needs to be recalibrated. This is petty but when I reheat my coffee for 30 seconds I want the handle of the cup to end up returning to the position I put the cup in the oven. This prevents spilling.

Microwave was manufactured in 2017 and is now tripping the breaker. I've unplugged it from the wall and have moved the breaker back to the on position, but still microwave trips it every time I try and turn it back on. After reading the reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue with this product. Haven't called customer service yet, but will tomorrow to see what can be done. If they won't do anything to help fix my $500+ paperweight, I will be posting everything I can about it. If they've known about this issue, there should be some sort of 'fix' for it, right? I purchased this top of the line Frigidaire Gallery microwave and it has proved to be a lemon. The circuit breaker malfunctioned and the door switch stopped working properly. After having it repaired, the repairman returned a few days later and again made a repair. It has since broken again.The repairman recommendation is to not have repaired again. Very disappointing in this top of the line product. I purchased all Gallery products for my kitchen. It is my understanding that this product has been discontinued and I am now stuck with a microwave that no longer works. I will have to purchase a mismatch microwave. That shucks!

Bought a new home in 2017 and the builder installed all Frigidaire Gallery equipment. Microwave circuit breaker have been tripping ever since I moved in. I thought initially tripping coincided mostly with rainy weather. Had to replace the circuit breaker thrice already in the main distribution panel assuming that the issue is with the breaker and not the microwave. Recently, after a new breaker is installed, microwave went out again!! This time we checked entire circuitry and confirmed that it is the microwave as it keeps tripping the breaker whenever it is turning on. Hate that I realized this after spending lot of money changing breakers and circuit validation. Evidently from the reviews, this issue seems to be wide spread among all users and to make matters worse, this product is discontinued! Any suggestions what I could do now?

I bought a Frigidaire Gallery microwave not even 2 1/2 years ago, and after reading other reviews, it™™s painfully obvious that there was a faulty batch of microwaves produced during the same period. Same cooking issues that I documented with Frigidaire, and now, the microwave has stopped working after causing my breaker to flip and spark. Contacted customer service through several types of communication and no one will admit there is an issue with my microwave and handle the situation. Judging from the manufacturing date, this microwave was apparently installed to help sell the house we bought two years ago, so we are the first users of it. The magnetron is now failing and blowing the fuse, after only two years of service. I have had microwaves from other brands that were still functioning perfectly well after 10 or more years of use, so this is extremely disappointing. I will not be considering Frigidaire for a replacement.

I have always bought Frigidaire products and the microwave under range hood I purchased in August 2017 WAS BAD. I replaced an existing Frigidaire microwave as thought this would be better model when the other went out. Since purchasing the product has already broken twice had to be fixed. After a brief 5 to 6 months the microwave is again shorting out and blowing the fuses. LEMON, NO HELP FROM CUST SVC, DON™™T USE FRIGIDAIRE AS THEY DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR APPLIANCES. Bought a whole kitchen suite for new kitchen in 2017. The microwave has been a headache since day one! Shortly after purchase it began tripping the circuit breaker every time we hit the start button. Service person replaced circuit board, fuses, and door latches. Worked until JUST out of warranty then same problem. Bought a whole kitchen suite for new kitchen in 2017. Shortly after purchase the microwave started tripping the circuit breaker every time we hit the start button. Service person replaced circuit board and fuses. As soon as warranty expired it started doing it again! Service person again replaced circuit board, fuses and also door latches. Had electrician check the entire circuit (dedicated 20 amp), outlet, and circuit breaker; all fine. Now it is doing it again! Hit start, circuit breaker trips! Frigidaire's response? Out of warranty. If its the same problem that existed while under warranty why isn't it still covered? They also have a no replacement policy. My complaints go without response. I need a microwave that matches the other appliances (no smudge stainless) but am afraid to buy from Frigidaire. If I got a lemon they should back it up!

Previous Frigidaire microwave broke and repairs would be as much as a new one. I love the new one, but it™™s already discontinued? And the Start/Stop buttons are backwards from the first microwave. Why? I™™m old and habits are hard to break!

I bought this 2 years back and suddenly it died now, not a good microwave. I called the customer service and they said its out of warranty now, but I paid $359 for it and didn't expect to just last for 2 years.Disappointed with it.

We have had the microwave since 2016, when we purchased the suite. Very unhappy that the microwave has tripped the circuit breaker many times and then this last time, the entire unit just died. We are devastated, as we have company coming and no working microwave! And we spent a LOT of money making our kitchen updated!!!! I would not recommend this product at all! I thought Frigidaires were good!??? Aren™™t they anymore?

I bought this microwave in October 2017. In June 2019 it just quit working during a 30 seconds cycle. Since it was over 1 year there is nothing that can be done. I will never buy another Frigidaire!

Very disappointed! This microwave was purchased less than 2 years ago and is now providing a nasty shock when on. Our entire kitchen set is Frigidaire Gallery and now we are considering switching brands.

As with several other reviewers we™™ve had our microwave less than 2 years and now have to replace because it continues to blow fuses. We™™ve replaced fuses and tried to keep it going but it™™s not worth the repair price. Now we will spend more time installing a new one. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing that this microwave along with our Frigidaire gallery dishwasher are non-functioning after less than 2 years. Definitely buying different brands.
