Good design, but that ice maker :-( !

We have had the Fridge @ 4years. Keeps things cool, etc.. But the ice maker just gets slower and slower. I replace water filter whenever the reminder comes up and we aren't heavy user of fridge. See many other comments on icemaker. Wish manufacturer had an upfront solution.

As many others have mentioned, I have had nothing but trouble with the icemaker. Frigidaire paid a repairman to come 3- 4 times within the first 6 months and never got it to work. (All documented with Frigidaire) The fridge is in a lake property so when I called again in the spring to have it repaired, Frigidaire told me it was over a year and they would not pay for any more repairs even though they had documented proof that it never did work properly. I tried to get them to replace the fridge when the repairman could not get it fixed but was denied. Beautiful fridge but the icemaker is a lemon. I'll think twice before I buy another Frigidaire. :( Very FrustratingSerial number 4A62109213

bad ice maker design

I had nothing but issues with this refrigerators ice maker. The refrigerator looks fantastic. I installed a 2nd ice maker in the freezer...neither have worked properly. The main ice maker is completely broken and I have had Frigidaire repairmen out to work on it multiple times. I spent more on service appointments and new parts than I would have spent on a completely new refrigerator. I believe there was a design flaw that was figured out a couple of years later. I would skip this model.

My fridge is about 3 YEARS OLD AND FROM DAY 1 i'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THE ICEMAKER.I bought the entire package of the appliances & am not really happy with any of them. Never again buy Frigidaire. If it were just me I'd think I was complaining too much but my neighbor and my niece both have had major issues with their Frigidaire refrigerators & after just 3 years my niece junked hers & bought a different on the advice of a refrigerator repairman who said Frigidaire products are no good. It appears there is a major defect on Model # FGHF2369MFO. I™€™ve had this refrigerator for 8 years. A defect in the ice maker causes a rust hole in the back of the unit which seems irreplaceable from all the reviews I have read. At the very least this unit should be prorated for the customer to purchase a new one. From what I have read they are only offering 20% off and this is not near enough. It should be 50% off because this unit only lasted half its life. How Frigidaire responds to this review will determine if I ever purchase another appliance from this company. It™€™s in your court, Frigidaire!

I have never had issues with a fridge until this one. I had to turn off the ice maker due to (apparently common) problems, freezer drawer slides do not hold the door securely shut, rust forms on the back of the fridge from condensation (another common problem with this unit). I have never had a single appliance with so many design problems.

DEFECTIVE

This unit has a known issue wherein a manufacturing defect causes the breakdown of insulation behind the ice maker and a huge rust spot that eats through the metal and causes leaking behind the fridge. Frigidaire required me to have one of their approved technicians diagnose the problem, which cost me money, only to say that this particular issue deems the unit "non-reparable" and the only solution they are willing to offer is 20% off a new Frigidaire fridge. Note that they used to have a repair kit for this issue that was provided even outside of warranty but they stopped providing it. So I spent a lot of money on a fridge that was supposed to last me 15-20 years only to have been provided with a defective unit that was doomed to fail from the start, and the only solution offered is 20% off a new Frigidaire fridge? What a joke. I would never give my business to Frigidaire again. Frigidaire clearly does not stand behind their products, what a shame.

Worst refrigerator I've ever had

I've had this refrigerator less than 2 years. Everything that gets near the edges of the inside of this refrigerator-freezes! The slightest bump against this refrigerator causes a dent. I'm 54 years old, have lived in 7 homes in my adult life, had many refrigerators, and have honestly never had these kind of problems. I've never dented a frig in my life, and this one now has 3! Now, the icemaker has suddenly slowed down, and doesn't make ice fast enough. Have no clue how to speed it up. There is ice up above, it just won't drop quickly enough.

This Refrigerator came with my newly built home. Let's just say, I DO NOT CARE FOR THIS REFRIGERATOR! The freezer below is one giant bucket, It's doesn't hold much either and you can not keep things organized. As for the refrigerator portion, same thing, the drawers are narrow and don't seem to hold as much as my old side-by-side did. I have literally asked people if they'd like to have this refrigerator as I'm ready to go buy a new one. One thing positive I can say is that I do like the ice dispenser.

Everything is great about this fridge other than I wish it was a little roomier so I should™€™ve bought a bigger model. Another feature I wish these refrigerators had is some sort of alarm which will let you know if one of the doors is left open or ajar. The refrigerator works great and keeps the food at a very precise temperature which is great. The only thing that has stopped working is the indicator light on the panel when you choose ice cube option.

Counter dept means less width and fits

I wanted a french door refrigerator that would not look so large in my kitchen and fit through my front door. A normal french door is too wide and they have to take off the refrigerator doors to get it into most homes. This one is not as deep a the regular french doors and fits through without taking off the doors or handles. It fits nicely in my kitchen space. I love the lighting and it is bright inside. The crisper can be moved to be both on the bottom of the refrigerator or on one side stacked. The ice maker is quieter than most and I only hear a little noise when the water turns on and it dumps the ice. Such a nice refrigerator that I hope to enjoy for years.

The Boss

The "Boss" keeps everything cold for us. Well, that's important during Happy Hour. The convenience of the outer door water & ice, can't be beat. The storage compartments just what we needed to organize are food selection. So far, very pleased with the Gallery. Might think of changing it's name to the "Boss".

Even though, I'm a big fan of Frigidaire products. This and brand new gas stove/range broke down after a month of usage. So called warranty from Frigidaire is also terrible since its been over 3wks now that a technician was supposed to come and replace almost half of the appliance.

Awkward

Doors and drawers and shelves are just awkward compared to a single door refrigerator. Drawers on left can't be opened unless both doors open. Ice maker is best on freezer not on top. I should have bought that model but this was cheaper, my error. Water feature started running twice when no one was near the refrigerator. Gallons of water on the floor. Repairman couldn't find anything wrong. We are afraid to leave with the water turned on to the refrigerator.

I really love this fridge. I live in a hundred year old house with limited kitchen space, but this fridge fits perfectly and has plenty of space on the inside. My only complaint is that you must have both refrigerator doors open to open a drawer, but other than that, I love it!

Somewhat disappointed

The refrigerator itself is decent. It does what it is supposed to do, that is cools and keeps our food fine. My disappointment is that the display lost some of it's lights after about two years. When I decided to replace the touch pad, a problem developed. I contacted the manufacturer for service and they referred me to three service companies, non of which were in my area. That certainly does not provide me with any confidence that I have any product support.

Bought this fridge on sale because they were getting the new model in. Wish we would of gone with a new fridge. This one is terrible. We have had so many issues. It barely makes any ice, everything touching the inside of the fridge freezes. We've had multiple drawers and shelves break. Just awful fridge.

Noisy fridge

This refrigerator was installed by the builder of my home a year ago. It is part of an overall kitchen set (cooktop, microwave, oven, dishwasher). I was initially skeptical about the format with the french doors and the freezer drawer. However, I have grown to like the format. I think the freezer drawer is pretty convenient and easier to arrange than a side by side freezer. The one concern I have about the format are the crisper drawers. If you open just one door you can not open the crisper drawer. You must open both doors to open the drawers. The most pressing concern I have is that there is an intermittent fan noise. I am not a mechanical expert but I am guessing that the fan is losing a bearing and will fail soon. Unfortunately, I think this will happen after the warranty period. The final issue and I think this is a big indication that the company is not building in quality is that the temperature display has had one of the LED's fail. It is clear that someone was not really engineering a great fridge but throwing together something that they could sell. Quality is a mindset and I honestly don't think Frigidaire has that mindset.

Been wanting a french door refrigertor for some time now to replace our old, huge, 30 yr old boxy fridge. Found this floor model discounted and knew I was meant to have it. The counter depth was perfect to move to the opposite wall away from window for a brighter kitchen. It's spacious inside and well-lit when the door opens. I love having the internal temps displayed on the outside door. A beautiful addition to our updated kitchen - this fridge definitely brings us into the 21st century!

This refrigerator came standard with my Cardinal 5th wheel. We lived in our 5th wheel for 4 months using the small refrigerator that comes in the older 5th wheels. This one has water and ice. We didn't know what to do we had so much room!

Works fairly well and looks very nice. Condensation forms on the top of the freezer door and we cannot determine the reason. Also, in the deli bin, the deli meats and cheeses freeze. We have the temperature set to the default for the refrigerator...

Ice Maker Issues

Ice maker doesn™€™t stay shut and builds up ice under the ice tray. Water accumulates under the ice maker and drips onto the selfing. We have to keep a towel on the drip try to absorb the excess water flow that drips out of the fridge. Needs a better ice maker with better insulation and seals around doors.

So far this refrigerator has preformed! My only complain is sometime there is a loud noise. I think it may be the compressor once and a while. It is not the ice maker...and it is inconsistent.

We™€™ve had it about 6 months. I like the arrangement (freezer at bottom) better than I thought I would. Counter depth made our small kitchen more usable. I like that it tells us when to change the filter. And I like the small ice cubes. I was concerned about the smaller cubic feet. Since we can see everything we eat more of the food we buy and the size and organization work well.

Overall, we are loving our new refrigerator. We have noticed that items in the back of the fridge tend to freeze, and the ice maker freezes up from time to time. A hair dryer quickly solves the second issue.

Warranty repair after only 4 months

I love the look of the fridge. I had an Issue with the fan behind the ice maker. Increasing noisy and vibratintion . Diagnosed the problem with tech support and Scheduled a service repair 10 days out due to trying to get a vacation day off at work. The morning of the the repair , I was called , explained my issue with the service tech and told that a part would need to be ordered . Now I will need to take another day of work to resolve the issue..I wish tech support would have explained the the problem with the repair crew. They could have had the part the day of the Scheduled repair...

We bought this with the purchase of our new home. It looks great, but function is horrible. The shelves are at bad heights; the freezer is hard to access and does not hold much. The external ice and water dispenser however is one of the best we have usd. It is nice also having the temperatures displayed for accuracy and monitoring. It might be fine for a single person, but a family that wants to buy even a 1/4 of a cow could not; this unit is going to require lots of grocery shopping.
