My unit is 6 years old and the ice maker stopped making Ice so I called a factory certified technician to diagnose and repair. Upon inspection, the unit is found to have a factory defect which is not repairable. I was still required to pay $100 for the service call. The technician was nice enough to open a case with Frigidaire to help me get my unit replaced. Frigidaire responded with an offer of a 20% rebate towards the purchase of a NEW unit. It not like I am asking for the company to repair something that broke as a part of age or wear and tear, this is a manufacturing defect which is not repairable and has nothing to do with the age of the unit. Second problem is no retailers have any refrigerators available in my area that are comparable in size or features. I believe I should be refunded the purchase price so I can go and get another unit.

Worst Refrigerator Ever

I bought this fridge 6 years ago to match the appliances in my new house. I have replaced the ice maker 2 times, replaced the dispenser assembly once, and installed an ice maker in the freezer (which stopped working). The water dispenser stopped and I discovered the infamous frozen rust spot on the back of the fridge. I thawed out the ice maker, all water lines and I cleaned up the rust and covered the rust with rubber insulation tape. Ice maker is now making ice and the water is dispensing as it should. Unfortunately the freezer and fridge temperatures are now way too high and will not go down. I unplugged and waited 10 minutes and then plugged back in. The temperatures went down to normal for about 7 hours. They both went back up again and now the freezer is back to 0 and the fridge is at 53. I am not sinking another dollar into this rust bucket. I will be replacing with a different brand.

Ice maker is horrible

Bought this back in 2016 and have had nothing but issues. The ice maker is in the refrigerator section which is a poor design. It crystallizes constantly and you have you go in and defrost the motor to get it working again. Have had several different technicians try to repair but no luck. Size is great is the reason for the 2 stars. I feel like I wasted my money.

We™€™ve had this fridge less than 5 years and have had multiple issues related to the ice maker and freezer. The ice maker stopped working for the second time recently. Defrosting fixes the issue the first time but not this time. Add to that the freezer froze up and leaked out the bottom of the front on multiple occasions. Have had it serviced once but just don™€™t feel it™€™s worth putting a couple hundred bucks into it to service it again.

We purchased this fridge from Best Buy. Never thought I would spend this much on a fridge, but the wife liked it and the sized was great. Purchased the 5 year in home warranty and used the heck out of it. Ice maker was always leaking and then water freezing in the drawers. Repairman just kept fixing the issue and then told us it was a horrible design. Pulled it out to do the kitchen cabinets and counter tops to find rust and ice on the back of the fridge. All that money for a 6 year fridge, so sad. New flooring and kitchen, don't want this thing leaking all over the place. I would not buy this again.

This refrigerator is less than 7 years old. The back is rusting out. It is leaking on my floor. I was told that I would receive a rebate letter to use toward a new fridge. The rebate was for 10 percent off. That™€™s pretty unsubstantial toward replacing a fridge that is less than 7 years old. I will NOT buy another sub-par Frigidaire refrigerator.

Drawers Keep Cracking

I have had two drawers crack and have had to pay to replace them. The fridge was only over a year old when the first one cracked and the second as well. The second I could still use the drawer easily, but finally completely came apart. It's right in the middle of the top of the drawers where you pull them open. The picture is of the cool drawer, but it happened to one of my fresh drawers as well. They are not cheap to replace and this just should not happen with normal wear and tear and at 1-2 years of age. The fridge is now 4 years old, but the initial crack happened in the 1-2 year range and the same with the fresh drawer. The fresh drawer was pretty much unusable and needed replacement right away. Cool drawer was cracked and usable, but now completely came apart and very cumbersome to use.

The refrigerator is 6 years old and has worked very well. But now it is very noisy. When the fan on the freezer starts it is VERY loud. We had someone out 2 years ago to replace the fan and it has been making noise for the last year. Yesterday the freezer stopped working because it froze over so I had to empty it and use a heater and dry it off. It is now working fine but the noise is louder than ever, it is unbearable.

Bought this 6 years ago, along with the 5 year warranty, which we used A LOT. I think we had 7 different service calls, almost all of which required a follow-up visit to replace a part they had to order. Now the fridge is not working again, so we will be heading to the store for a new fridge. Not worth fixing again now that it will be our bill! Most of the issues are caused by the ice maker.

Ice on backside of fridge...now frozen drain!

I bought this refrigerator originally because it had "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval." I like many others had the ice ball on the back of refrigerator. Frigidaire owned up (to a certain degree) and installed a foam pad on the pad of refrigerator and upgraded the ice maker housing/gasket, etc. Now the drain for the ice maker stays clogged. I completed drained same by unclogging the ice and leaving unit unplugged for at least 24 hours. Within 2 months the drain is clogged again. Frustrated beyond frustrated.

We told our neighbor in Florida about our problem and they have the same issue. My brother purchased the same set a few months after we did in the Chicago area and they checked behind their refrigerator and had ice behind theirs as well. No telling when the problem started. Two failures in less than four years

When it works I really like the features of this refrigerator. My wife really wanted it because it has the stainless that resists fingerprints. But in less than four years the LED display failed. I was able to replace it. But the ice maker has failed and I have tried to replace serveral parts with no luck. I see on internet reviews that several have commented on ice maker trouble.

zERO STARS. This unit was purchased with our home and broke just before the warranty. The icemaker stopped working. A repairman came and repaired it. It lasted just a few days after the warranty. I contacted GE and the sent repairman again with better "kit" that had additional insulation. 2nd year, suddenly freezer temps fluctuate throughout the day even though it is set to 0. Replaced many items that have been suggested on many forums. The freezer temp will not go below 29 degrees and goes up to about 39 at times. No ice being made and now water trickles out of dispenser. Avoid this model and similar units at all costs. Also, we've looked at replacing and now stainless pattern on Gallery units runs in the opposite direction. Thanks for nothing Frigidaire. Should be recalled.

I, like many of the reviewers on here, am astounded by how quickly the ice maker malfunctions. We purchased with our new home in April 2017. It worked for about 2 years, but, conveniently since the warranty is expired, over the past 6-7 months the ice maker basically never works. We contacted our service rep, but now, after reading all the continued bad reviews and known problems with the ice maker, it makes no sense for me to keep dumping money into it when it's likely going to continue to malfunction. I, like the others, am very disappointed that quality control is a thing of the past.

We are on our 2nd one after the first one was replaced under warranty due to about 6 service calls for ice maker problems. Now this unit has the same rust and ice on the back that other reviewers have complained about. Do Not Buy This Refrigerator

We remodeled our kitchen on 10/19/2016 and replaced all of our appliances with Frigidaire from Don's Appliance in Tyler, TX. We must say that we have been satisfied with everything except the refrigerator......it has been a total nightmare. On 07-24-17 the ice maker quit working and the repairman ordered and replaced it. Shortly after we purchased the appliances, we noticed a "moldy" smell, and after continually growing worse, we had it investigated on 08-23-17. It was found that a connector on the back of the refrigerator was defective and was slowly leaking water, damaging the wall and buckling the floor. Although Frigidaire paid for the repairs, it was a massive inconvenience for us, plus tearing up our kitchen that had just been remodeled. Then again on 05-10-19 (after warranty had expired), the ice maker quit working and started leaking out the refrigerator front door. The repairman replaced the air handler kit, costing me $204.00. Then, on 05-28-19, The ice maker auger and solenoid were frozen again and the repairman thawed them out with a hair dryer and indicated that he didn't know what else could be done except to thaw the ice maker out each time it freezes up. Now, last week on 10/2/19, water was leaking out of the front door and the ice maker has frozen up again. I use the hair drier and can get maybe ten cubes of ice before it quits again..............I sincerely need help! Is there any chance that you can replace this refrigerator? We trusted Frigidaire to provide us with dependable appliances and I need your help!

Moved into my house in 2014 and I purchased all the gallery series appliances for my home. Only piece that has not had any issues is my 36" cook top. My dishwasher has been fixed 3 times for the same issue. And after looking thru the review section I have gotten some clarity on the rust hole and ice protruding from the back of my french door fridge. Pretty much can say you knew about this problem. It is a problem that will go unnoticed for years til you either heard a weird noise or something stops working and you go to investigate the problem. Not very pleased with these appliances in general. And i can only imagine i will get the same kind of response from fridgidaire as well. Very disappointed that I am going to have to replace something it after a few short years of service.

I purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. I thought everything was going fine until 3 weeks ago I pulled out the fridge and noticed a large block of ice on back of fridge and rust everywhere. It had also leaked onto my floor and ruined my hardwood floors. I contacted frigidaire and they sent out a technician that told me that this was a somewhat common issue and they even had a kit to fix it in the past. I was informed that they no longer do the kit and my fridge is not fixable. I then contacted frigidaire again and they told me that I would get 20% off the purchase of a new fridge. In order to match my existing set I would have to buy the same fridge. Why would I do that. They did not care about my floors or anything. I am very dissapointed with their customer service as well as their product. This was a KNOWN defect.

Delivered a year ago and the fridge no longer dispenses water or makes ice. Filter replaced, no kinks in water line, still nothing.

Ice Maker Fails

I've had this refrigerator for 3 1/2 years. I have had 5 service calls due to a faulty ice maker. 2 were covered under 1 year warranty, the other 3 have cost me $600.00. Now I'm told that control board is about to fail. They have recommended that I replace both boards to save money. estimated cost $600.00 and I'm still having problems with ice maker due to Fridgidaires design. I have a home full of Fridgidaire appliances but soon the refridgerator will be replaced with another brand.

Rust on back of 6 year old unit; unrepairable

Bought this unit 6 years ago, had problems with ice maker, Found problem to be a defective model which results in a Huge rust spot on back with frozen ice patch. . Frigidaire is aware of issue But Will do nothing about it. It was a Manufacture defect from factory which Frigidaire produced thousands with this problem before it was ever corrected. If you own this model , you probably have the Problem. See photos

You Don't Get What You Pay For Anymore.

I bought this expensive unit 5 years ago and I have never been able to count on the Ice makers to work. The ice maker in the top/door has never and I mean never made ice for more than a couple of days every few months. We lived with that because to have a service man come out it will cost $300.00 just for the visit and this does not guarantee repair. We have been told that there is an inherent issue with this model and that there was no real guarantee that the repair would last. Now the lower Ice maker has slowly stopped making ice until NADA. Now I have a SY EF error on my front display and the unit is not working anymore. I have a another Fridge in my garage that is 34 years old and still running strong. What gives with today's technologies? I outfitted the rest of my Kitchen with Fridgidaire and those units are not much better in Quality & Design. I will never buy another Fridgidaire unit for as long as as live.

Very Disappointed!

We purchased this fridge just 5 years ago and it has stopped working completely. We called the repairman at Sears where we purchased the unit, they replaced the computer chip, and it started to work again. Just a month and a half later, however, it stopped working again. It appears that the new chip has failed now as well. The repairman came back a week ago but has been unable to figure out why the chips keep failing. In the meantime, all of our food is rotting. I would strongly recommend that you not buy this product.

Worst fridge ever

We upgraded our refrigerator when we built our house! This is the upgrade! It has been the worst refrigerator I™€™ve ever had! We have owned our home for 5yrs making this refrigerator only 5yrs old! In my opinion it should last much longer than it has! We have had issues since we have had it! The ice maker is always freezing up and not producing ice! Yes before asked we change the filters frequently! Two weekends ago our refrigerator just quit!! After some research we came to the conclusion that it was the main breaker board! We replaced this and it came back on however the ice maker has not made ice since! I would never recommend this refrigerator! Costumer service is even a bigger joke than this appliance!

Rust through

Purchased new in June 2013. Unit worked well until April 2019. When I returned from a 3 month trip, the water and ice maker quit working. After checking the water line and back of unit, I found a nasty rust spot with water ousing out and running down to my wood floor. I called my local appliance service and rep discovered that the water line had frozen up. He also said that he has seen several of this model with rust through on the back where the ice maker was located inside. He said it is not repairable and to call Frigidaire. I called them and they refused to assist saying rust is not covered. I feel this is a product default due to not insulating the unit between the ice maker and back cover. I have a kitchen full of Frigidaire products and generally they perform fairly well. This is my last Frigidaire purchase. Not happy!!!!

I bought this 2 years ago and spent a fortune! It has a terrible ice machine design. I has been replaced 3 times and we've had over 5 service calls so far. The ice machine for Frigidaire is badly designed so that the incoming water line freezes shut. Service man told me many Frigidaires have had this problem over the years and they KEEP using the faulty design. I will never buy another product from them.

On to our 4th repair

We bought this as a part of a matching 4pc set. The ice maker stopped working after a few months. Repair man replaced the gasket and it worked for a few weeks. Then it was getting close to warranty expiring, so we purchased extended warranty. Repair man came and then replaced the thermostat, that worked for a few weeks as well. After another call (and each time the repair man comes, he usually has to order parts and come back the following week) the repair man fixed a frozen water line to the ice maker, that worked for a few weeks and now it is broken again. I called to speak to a manager at Frigidaire to complain and they were very unhelpful. I was told that the same damaged part needs to be replaced three times before they will replace the fridge. I have had to take time off work to meet the repair man 6 times and he is now scheduled to come out this week again - I will NEVER buy another Frigidaire product.

BEWARE - VERY DISAPPOINTED - PLEASE READ

I bought my home about 3 years ago (new purchase) and put in all Frigidaire Galley appliances. The Fridge has been nothing but problems. My ice maker has been hit or miss on whether it wants to work or not. It makes loud noises and stops making ice periodically. The other week the filtered water on the front stopped working so I pulled the fridge out and saw that the water supply lines were frozen in a small block of ice that was forming on the back of the fridge (see photo). In addition, there was a bunch of rust where there appears to be a hole allowing moisture to leak out of the back. This is directly behind the ice maker so it leads me to believe that this is part of the issue with the ice maker. I called Frigidaire and they offered no help but only were going to provide me with a list of Appliance service companies in my area which would be at my expense!?!? I understand things don't last forever and there are some features that should have a limited warranty, HOWEVER, they are telling me that Frigidaire won't stand by their product (which is actually rusting a hole in the back of the unit). For their top of the line series, nobody shouldn't have to worry that about a hole forming in the back of this unit after 3 years. I'm extremely disappointed and plan on selling the entire kitchen set and will be purchasing a different brand. I'll be posting my story and pictures on every online site I can find and warning others so they don't get stung by this company that doesn't stand by their product. I'll NEVER purchase Frigidaire after the way I've been treated.

Ice formed on the back and leaked all over

I have seen numerous videos of the same issue. Ice formed on the back of the unit and melted and rusted the fridge. The icemaker never worked well and quit working all together unless you shut off the icemaker for days and turn it back on. Then it will work for a day or so.

Well, I find it pretty amusing that I received an email to give a review on my refrigerator. Let me say that right now I am dealing with Frigidaire for a replacement. I™€™ve had this fridge since May 2017. In October 2018 I began to have issues with the ice maker. Fast forward to now 4 months later and I still have no ice maker. The ice maker cannot be fixed. The company that has tried to repair it 6 times since October told me to deal with Frigidaire directly because they can™€™t fix it. So now I wait. Frigidaire is not the easiest to deal with. Hopefully they don™€™t give me this same junk of an appliance

HORRIBLE PRODUCT

I purchased this fridge barely 2 years ago and have already had to have it serviced twice for the same problem. First time was under warranty and the second time cost me $273 on a brand new fridge. If they have a replacement kit to replace their previous replacement kit, it must be a poor design by Frigidaire! I purchased 3 new Frigidaire appliances for my new home 2 years ago and I've had 3 services already. Very disappointed in Frigidaire!! I surely won't be buying any in the future.

Frigidaire is TERRIBLE

I built a new house and filled it with Frigidaire appliances. BIG MISTAKE. in 4 years. Two of the appliances broke refrigerator and mashing machine. Turns out 3 of 3 people who I know that have Frigidaire refrigerators have broken within 5 years. So frustrated. Will NEVER BUY another Frigidaire again period!

Great At First, But Then Comes The Bad!

We bought this for our new house. It has been running and used for 3 years for just my wife and I so it has normal use if not on the light side. It has been working well, however, last week, we just pull the fridge out of its area as we wanted to clean behind it as its been a while. Once pulled out, I was examining the back and noticed major rust dripping down the back and on our wall. Puzzled by this, I looked up and on the back side right where the ice chest would be there is a wet, frost, ice, with major rust about 3-4 inches in diameter and the rust has eaten a hole through the back of the fridge. This has only 3-4 years of use. Major design flaw as this did not just happen over night. The ice machine also creates new ice very slowly and does not hold much ice for our use. Because of this, I would not recommend.

3 years ago I purchased my FRIGIDARE GALLERY MODEL JBND-27 and I continuously have to thaw out the upper Ice maker. The motor and fan freeze up and will not dispense ice. When this happens the ice in the front of the ice bin near the the chute begins to melt. Tell me, is this a poor design or is there some other problem?
